As a child, Peter was obsessed with plush toys, collecting massive piles of them to nap in. With some encouragement from Murmur, he started learning how to stitch his own crude plush together out of scraps of felt, which he often gifted to his peers. He discovered a love of sewing, and by the time he returned to Burrowgatory as an adult, he had developed impressive skills in stitching and patterning.

Once he was settled in Burrowgatory and surrounded by succubuns in doll form for the first time in his life, Peter developed a new interest in clothing and fashion. After attending a fashion show hosted by the Vellure Modeling Agency, he became enthralled and inspired by the beauty of the model Velveteen. He ran home to his sewing machine and channeled his inspiration into his first unique outfit design, which he sent to Velveteen as a gift.

To everyone's shock, the cold and unapproachable Velveteen not only accepted the gift, but personally approached Peter about designing more clothing for them. With Velveteen's endorsement, Peter's newly created Cottontail Couture label became a hot new trend, giving Peter the perfect platform to flex his sewing and design skills.
