[Rome]: Living in Sin

The whirring of the polaroid camera is heard once more and a single photo comes out on the glossy paper. Rome gently takes the picture in his hand and gives it a little shake. He looks up at his model, the beautiful Pumpkin with her soft orange fur and her lovely brown eyes. The flowers adorned on her hair were in full bloom and her green tipped tail swished around playfully. 

“How do I look…?” she muses, fixing her bangs slightly. 

Rome blinks, and looks down at the polaroid picture. She was one of the most photogenic bunnies he had ever met. The sunlight shone on her fur so prettily, and a gentle breeze blew through her hair as she sat daintily on a picnic mat. Pumpkin wore a soft smile, her eyes smiling at the camera. It looked truly picturesque. 

Rome lets out a small exhale, slinging the polaroid camera once more over his neck. Wow. He wished he could be this picturesque too. Unfortunately, it was the opposite as everything about him was just so… awkward. Uncharming. He hated having his photos taken, yet here Pumpkin was, already ready for another photo. 

It was all just so unfair. Why couldn’t he look like other buns…? Why couldn’t he have soft orange fur with white streaks, or pretty flowers adorning his ears? Why couldn’t be someone as charming and charismatic as Pumpkin, or anyone else in Burrowgatory for that matter! The envy bubbled and boiled in him, slow and steady and ready to burst.

“Rome! You still there?” Pumpkin calls out to the other, waving her hands a bit in Rome’s direction. She giggles slightly. “I said.. How do I look?” she asks once more, coolly, adjusting herself on the picnic mat. 

Rome gives her a small smile. 

“Perfect.” he says softly, putting his camera up to take another shot.
