Something New

    Lorien let out a small yawn as they perused the convention booths and stores. They may not have been the kind of bun that liked to leave their home, but the Toy Fair was one of the very few things that could get them off their sleepy butt to go and get some fresh air. Though, they were still too sleepy to shift to their other form. They liked being their small bun self anyway. Less caring about how you look and just going out to enjoy some outside time. Lucky enough for them, some buns also had stands set up that were bun forms only, so it’s where their eyes kept to while avoiding the buns who chose to be about in their other forms. Their eyes landed on several different stalls, varying levels of games and toys, as to be expected but none that caught Lorien’s eye specifically. They were hoping to find something new for themselves but also a gift for a new friend of theirs that they made while working. While many a bun work in the more sexual aspects, Lorien actually works in the more sensual department. The whole extra sleepy vibes they have also gave them a very cuddly nature, so Lorien figured there might be a bun or two out there that may just want a little bit of warm affection. They opened up a cuddling service and it’s, much to their genuine surprise, going exceptionally well! Through that job though, they met a grey and quite shaky bun named Xander. He was one of their clients and they eventually met up outside of those sessions and they found him to be quite sweet. Lorien never really made friends easily, even when they were younger, but Xander gave them a small hope that maybe they could have friends and maybe even more if they were lucky.

    The sleepy looking bun shook their head, getting out of their reminiscing thoughts for a moment to continue their search. They wanted to find a gift for him as a thank you, for giving them that hope once more. It was just finding one that would be an issue. “Hello there, little starry friend~ A moment of your time perhaps?” Said bun stopped their walking and turned to look at the one who called out to them, greeted immediately with a stall full of plushies. Their eyes widened and they walked over with an unnatural quickness, startling the owner of the stall. “Goodness, I didn’t think you were gonna be that infatuated with these. Though, considering you’re carrying around your own, that shouldn’t be that much of a shock to me. Looks quite old as well, perhaps a new--”

    “I’m not interested in getting rid of Coco, thank you.” The stall owner fell silent upon hearing the extremely annoyed tone of voice come from the soft and sweet looking bun. Lorien’s eyes scanned the stall of plushies, looking for something in particular. “Hmmm.. Do you--” Their voice, having taken a much softer tone and giving the other bun whiplash, stopped mid-sentence as they saw a simple Bonezo plush, sitting next to a Bearly plush, both seemingly off to the side from everything else. Without much of a second thought, Lorien pointed to the two plushes and looked to the stall owner. “Those ones, please.” 

    “Of course.” They gave the other bun the carats for the plushes and gently picked them both off the table, walking off immediately. “U-Um… Have a nice day!” The stall owner yelled out to them. Lorien gave a light wave over their shoulder, keeping their eyes on the two plushies now in their hooves. 

    “One for me.” As they gently squish the Bearly plush with their brown one, Coco. “You need a name… How about Charcoal? Hm… Maybe just Coal, it’s simpler and still matches. And you…” As they turn their attention to the Bonezo plush, they’ll let a small smile appear on their face. “...What you were made after are quite the clumsy little imps… And who you’re going to is just as clumsy… I hope they’ll like you.” Lorien was happy about today’s haul. Now, to find time to give Xander the plush was the next step.
