There's no way Dan can produce all of the special mochi in Burrowgatory. Not with all the thousands of buns. So what does he do? He delegates the task to buns with a debt. In this instance, it's Algae, who's eyes were bigger than his wallet and he ate more mochi than he can afford so now he has to pay it back.
