BUN-1554: Maro

Cherubuns’ lives are short and simplistic compared to that of their succubun peers. When they aren’t doing simple chores like cooking or gardening, they’re singing and drinking tea with their loved ones, oblivious to the rest of the world around them. They live like this for just a few short years, and then old age takes them…and when they are breathing their last, Maro is always at their side, singing a comforting hymn so that they may close their eyes for the last time with peace in their heart.

Maro is an older cherubun with an unrivaled passion for singing. While he sings for pleasure, more often than not he finds himself singing to comfort others, especially cherubuns who are on the brink of death. Despite such a heavy role, Maro has always managed to keep himself chipper by staying involved within their little community in the heavenly meadow. This has made him well-loved amongst the younger cherubuns and, coming closer to the end himself, knowing that so many would be at his side when he passed made him happy. When his time came, he would be ready…

...Or so he thought.

When Dove paved the way for other cherubun to descend into Burrowgatory and obtain the long life that was taken from them in the meadow, Maro and his peers only had to ask themselves one thing: would they choose to pass surrounded by loved ones and everything they knew, or venture forth into the unknown and start a new page in their lives? For them, it wasn’t exactly a hard question to answer. So, Maro and a few others made the jump—and in this brave new world, Maro would continue to sing.
