Lessa and Planting Task
"You going up Heavenly Embassy?" Lessa nodded at Rosetti's signed question while tying up her long hair into high ponytail.
"Why?"
"They need help gardening. I want go" Lessa responded to her concerned housemate's question. They both knew Lessa still wasn't fully comfortable around other Cherubuns. Years of isolation had its effect on her still. However Lessa still loved The Heavenly Embassy and the stuff she was used to back in Heavenly Gardens. It was how she was raised after all and she retained the knowledge still. It was her home.
"Good luck!" "Thanks Rose!" Lessa cheerily waved as she rushed out the front door, hooves barely touching the pavement as she hurried along the sidewalk toward where she knew the elevators to be. As she leaned against the wall inside the elevator as the doors closed, she breathed softly while the elevator ascended toward the Embassy.
Was she nervous? Oh yeah. She wasn't looking forward to seeing Primrose as he was rather....uptight but Lessa would rather risk interacting with him than never coming by to help in garden which she adored so much. She did enjoy Burrowgatory and their plants but they could never compare to the plants from where she had been brought up.
As the elevator arrived and doors cracked open; the Deaf Cherubun stepped out into the Heavenly Embassy where there were Cherbuns bustling everywhere and from what she could tell, the general mood was good. She stepped toward the Heavenly Garden, bracing herself when she spotted Primrose speaking sharply toward other Succubuns, and hurried past them without any acknowledgement as she simply wanted to grab a trowel, gardening gloves and some seeds so she could bury herself into the simple mundane task of planting the seeds. It was quite busy with several Succubuns coming by to help and learn more about the Cherubuns which Lessa didn't mind. Encouraged it even! One of her friends had told her tale of his six weeks helping Primose around and she had been amused by his grumpy anecdotes.
Once her teal eyes had spotted a lonely row of undisturbed soil, she beelined for it and settled down with her trowel, container of seeds and gardening gloves. Smoothing over her skirt so it wouldn't get in the way, and Lessa made sure her ever flowing Aqueous Hagoromo weren't touching anything but her body; slipped on the gloves then began to get lost in the soothing rhythm of digging small holes into the soil, dropping some seeds in and covering the holes back up. It was quite easy for her attention span to narrow down to hyper focus on the task at hand: Planting those seeds with knowledge they will flourish into beautiful plants to be used to produce ambrosias for the Cherubuns to enjoy.
Her Feather Wings on her back fluttered once in while in subtle display of her good mood as Lessa worked her way down the row; ignoring her surroundings. She sat back up from hunched position with a wince as she stretched out her back and shoulders, feeling them protesting while she glanced over the row she had just finished working on. Her container of seeds had dent in it but it had plenty still in it. Just as she got to her hooves with the trowel and container, she spotted a certain surly Cherubun heading her way with a notepad in hand. Primrose.
What did he want?
"I wanted to check on you. Are you doing okay on your own? Don't forget to hydrate." Primrose's notepad showed what he had scribbled on and Lessa paused, eyebrows furrowing as she read then she facepalmed.
Hydration wasn't her strong suit. She took the notepad, flipped the paper over and scribbled down
"I'm okay. I like working here. Soothing. I'll go get bottle of water before moving on to next row. Thank you"
She smiled somewhat shakily as Primrose nodded then hurried past to get bottle of water; not noticing the other Cherubun looking after her with an odd look on his face.
Once she had gotten a bottle of water and properly hydrated; she went to find another empty row of soil to work her way with digging holes in. Normally other buns and dolls would work together on rows but Lessa was more used to working on her own, and found it easier personally even if it was little lonely at times.
Honestly, Lessa loved having repetitive tasks. It made things easier for her to get lost into task at hand and soothe herself. Refreshed her mental and emotional states so she could have fresh start after her task at hand. Rosetti had noticed and gave her several tasks around their workplace. It was why they worked together so well and Rosetti could focus on other things.
That and Lessa genuinely enjoyed getting her hands dirty in the soil and interacting with nature. Planting seeds and seeing what came from them.
