[Gift] Together Tonight, Forever Tomorrow
“I can do this.”
Standing by the front door, a small white bun with a hint of pink hue in his fur stood in wait with a basket by his side as it sat on the snowy ground. The bun shivered in the cold and wrapped his long fluffy ears around his neck. He took a deep breath, and eagerly knocked on his neighbour’s house, hoping the other bun was home on this cold winter night. The bun trembled and pouted as he waited, watching the snow fall onto his fur, continuing to slowly pile up.
It took a while and when it finally opened, Amias, who was shivering in the cold quickly threw himself into the larger bun’s fur, seeking warmth. “Gah! It’s so cold! Lico, you’re so slow!” The lust bun complained but sneakily buried himself further into Liquorhys’s arms.
“Amy- Sorry, I was caught up in my work. Did you wait for long?” Lico asked while brushing off the snow piling on Amy’s head as he held the bun in his arms. Well, the other bun seemed to wait for quite a while as he had so much snow piling on him. What he didn’t know was that the smaller bun had intentionally walked slowly and carefully outside as he collected more snow on top of his head to gain more pity points and care from Lico.
“Not that long I suppose,” the white bun said, his eyes glinting with mischievousness. “But I was sooo cold. So, um, can I warm up inside?”
"Sure, you're always welcomed in," Used to having Amy in his home, Lico made way for him, and the smaller bun reluctantly parted from Lico’s warm fur. Alas, but it was nice while it lasted, Amy thought. Then he turned around and grabbed his basket, cheerfully showing it off to Lico. “Lico, look! I baked something to snack on! It’s nice to eat something warm on cold days! I thought we could have them while spending Cherubmas together!”
Amy had sent some to Eggsy and the rest, but he saved some specially made ones just to share with Lico. He still wasn’t done courting, although he wasn’t sure if Lico had even noticed his attempts.
Once they got comfortable inside, snug on the couch wrapped in a warm blanket in front of the fireplace with cookies to snack on, Amy was satisfied that his mission was partly successful. Lico passed him a warm mug, filled with hot chocolate to which Amy happily accepted. They curled inside the blankets and sipped on their drinks while munching on Amy’s freshly baked pastries. The most interesting-looking ones were cookies baked into a heart shape with strawberry jam in the middle.
“They’re delicious, thank you for sharing them with me, Amy,” Lico said, a gentle smile gracing his face. Just that one smile was enough to make the smaller bun’s heart raced wildly inside his chest. Ugh! So fatal!
After a few seconds of blankly staring, Amy blushed and coughed, trying not to appear too obviously smitten, as if he wasn’t that obvious to begin with. “I-I’m glad you think so! Of course, I’ll always share the best things with you— Achoo-!”
Then Amy suddenly sneezed. He did stay out in the cold for quite a while after all. Luckily he made sure to grab his basket from the warmth of his house after he was ready to find Lico, but he might’ve overdone it with trying to gain those sympathy points.
Worried, Lico wrapped Amy tighter inside the blanket, trying to keep him warm. “Are you alright? Shall I get you more blankets?” His face showed concern, and it was so close Amy felt like he would burst into flames if he were to move any closer. “I’m fine, I was just-”
But he paused. Is this not another chance for him? Why should he miss this golden opportunity? So Amy quickly changed his tune, “Well, I think I am still a bit cold… But if you move away to get them, I’ll be very cold... Just lending me your fur and body warmth is good enough!” He said very confidently, not at all embarrassed about asking for more skinships.
It made Lico somewhat stumped before he let out a soft laugh. “Alright, I won’t move. Here,” Lico patted the space beside him, an invitation to the other bun. Amy didn’t miss a beat and quickly moved closer, removing any space left between them. He wrapped his tiny arms around the other bun’s body, snuggling into his soft and warm dark fur. “Hehe~ Lico’s so warm~”
"I'm glad," Lico's voice floated softly above him, warm and gentle. "Now you'll also be warm as well."
The warmth and closeness made Lico’s heart warm as well as he gently pats Amy’s back. He pulled the blanket over them, wrapping themselves into a bundle. The night hums with the sound of crackling firewood and the soft wind breezing through the air as the two buns snuggled in each other’s warmth. The butterflies fluttering around Amy continue to scatter around them, circling the two buns. Amy even took this moment to curl his tail around Lico's, entangling them together.
The smaller bun soon noticed that the larger one had dozed off, his body leaning against the plush couch with his head tilted towards the smaller one’s body. A butterfly stopped on his nose, giving the illusion as if it landed on Lico's nose. He must've been tired from working for so long. Amy gently tapped his cheek, and seeing that the other wasn’t waking up, he leaned closer and pressed his lips gently against the darker bun’s cheek. A sneaky kiss.
“Thank you for having me…”
Amy smiled softly, his eyes curving as he buried himself further into Lico's arms, grateful to have this gentle bun in his life, and for accepting himself despite his many flaws. The smaller bun sighs wistfully, wishing for another tomorrow, together with him.
