[Gift] Sweet Treats to Keep Blood Sugar up!

Manis's tail curled as she adjusted her braids into one rather thick braid down her back while looking over her kitchen full of ingredients, baking supplies and recipes. Oh and a wonderful friend of hers, Devona. As soon as the news broke out about the blood bank at Burrowgatory Hill Hospital needing donations and volunteers; Manis and Devona had gotten to talking about how they could help.

That was how they ended up in one of the kitchens on Manis's property surrounded by things needed to bake delicious treats. Between them, there were seven recipes planned in rather scary quantities. Correction: It's triple the amount the average Gluttony would eat in one sitting.

"I think we have everything we need!" Devona smiled and Manis giggled as her Bimble settled on top of fridge to watch from afar "As long as we don't sneak snacks too much, Dev. Shall we get started?"

After making sure they both had aprons on and hair tied out of way, they got started on preparing fruits and nuts as per instructions. For Manis's Honey Apple Bars, the apples needed to be sliced up and Manis had sourced a particularly sweet variety for this recipe. Devona set to crushing the walnuts for Manis's Walnut Squares and asked Manis as to which honey she would be using for the recipes.

"Oh I'm using orange blossom honey for the Honey Apple Bars, they're mild, tangy and sweet so they'll compliment the spices and apple well. For the Honey Walnut Bars, I pulled out one of my infused honeys, the autumnal blend-"
"OOoh what's in that blend??" Devona moved around to peek at the mentioned jar that had been pointed out as Manis easily pulled out a honey dipper from somewhere with a soft laugh and handed it over while swatting away at her imp buzzing about above her.

"Cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, cardamom and allspice. That was a hard infusion to perfect as that blend is easy to overdo but it's one of my favorites!" Manis cheerily explained as Devona twisted the lid off and dipped the honey dipper in to scoop some up to taste. "Oh wow it's delicious!" The taller Gluttony jumped at Manis in a giant hug which had her laughing in response.

Manis made sure to pull out her wildflower honey for her Pistachio Bakalava and used her orange blossom honey for her Honey Vanilla Caramels. Her Bimblee buzzed around the kitchen as the two sweet Gluttonies got to work in preparing their sweets, Manis gladly lending Devona usage of her honeys for Devona's Plum Cupcakes and Chocolate Caramel Shortbread Cookies; even discussing which chocolates were best to dip shortbread cookies and make chocolate bars out of. They chatted and laughed as they worked side by side preparing the delicious treats to bring with them to the hospital. Did they steal (more like sneaking) bites while baking? Yes they did. Their vice happened to be Gluttony after all.

"Ah! You two sure brought along so much~" Quince chimed when she spotted the two girls carrying several boxes full of sweets along with a few bags on their elbows as they entered the blood bank at the Burrowgatory Hill Hospital.

"We made a total of seven different sweets between us; cupcakes, cookies, bars, squares, caramels! Where can we set those down and set up for the volunteers to snack on after they've donated blood...?" Devona inquired with a cheerful laugh as Manis adjusted her hold on her packages; Quince gestured for them to follow her as they walked through the waiting room into the back full of buns and dolls alike getting ready to get their blood drawn and went through toward the recovery room where there were very few people bustling around and setting up paper plates, food on a table and such. It seems the two girls were early or just in time as the blood bank appeared to be in need of more food.

"We just ran out of sweets and few of our volunteers left earlier. You're just in time! Go get set up and wait for more patients" Quince explained with a smile as Devon and Manis immediately went to the table to get set up with Manis's Bimblee going over to get some loving from Quince who gladly scratched its head. Since they had precut the Honey Apple Bars, Honey Walnut Bars, and Pistachio Bakalava; it was quicker and easier to get them set up and plated along with the varying types of chocolate bars they had made together earlier, Devona's Plum Cupcakes and Chocolate Caramel Shortbread Cookies and Manis's Honey Vanilla Caramels for easier grabbing along with stack of napkins nearby.

"Wow you two really made so much!" Quinne exclaimed while petting the Bimble as Devona nodded "We sure did! The more we make the longer we'll be here and especially the more we can feed the better! Both Manis's Honey Apple Bars & Honey Vanilla Caramels and my Chocolate Caramel Shortbread Cookies & chocolate bars are for grab 'n' go though we have a feeling they'll firmly be told to stay and rest up for a while. We made sure our snacks are dense and gives energy." She chirped out her explanation as Manis scanned the room while swiping a cookie to snack on. It wasn't long before buns began to stream into the room and the three Gluttony dolls got busy with passing out sweets as well as making sure everyone were being looked after properly.

It didn't take Manis too long before she was wandering away, her imp trailing after her as they had spotted a familiar sight. Pink and Gold Gilded Lust doll. Seems her littermate and closest friend had just donated his blood. Manis's Bimble flew right into his arms as Manis approached him with a small cheerful smile.

"Manis! What a surprise to see you here. I'd ask why but seeing the table full of food, you came to help?" Ari asked and Manis nodded as she brushed her loose braids over her shoulders "I made four treats. Honey Apple Bars, Honey Walnut Bars, Pistachio Bakalava and Honey Vanilla Caramels. Knowing you, you'll want the apple one?" At Ari's eager nod, Maple giggled and went toward the snack table where Devona was raising an eyebrow at her

"You two seem quite close..."
"Oh that's just my littermate and a very dear friend of mine" Manis shook her head with a laugh at Devonna as she made a plate with a Honey Apple Bar with a napkin and some juice before bringing back to Ari to snack on as she settled down in the chair next to him. "I'll probably donate some blood another time but I felt that it was my duty to bring snacks" Manis commented and Ari nodded before raising an eyebrow at her. Rolling her eyes she rebuffed him with a quick

"Devona's a good friend of mine and sides, she's not my type but she is adorable. You'll like her as a shopping partner though." Manis reached for her Bimble to rub a hand over its head as Ari began to snack on her delicious snack she had made.
