"I have been wondering, Kazahana." Called Fei as he looked over to the other male Succubun who was playing with a Temari ball by kicking it with his feet. Passing the small toy towards a Ryudra who flicks its tail back to pass the ball to Kazahana.
"You always have that ball with you. Is it something of importance?" Fei asked while setting down the broom that he had used a while ago to a nearby wall and sat down at the edge of the platform that faces the spacious courtyard of the temple.
"Oh? This? Uhh..." Kazahana stopped the ball with the use of his knee and caught it up in the air with his hands. His Ryudra looks over their owner and gently nibbles on his long ears hoping that he will take notice of his little imp to continue playing. "I... got it from someone."
"Someone?" Fei asked with a raised brow as he sat down on a wooden stool near him. "Who is someone?"
Kazahana let out a blink and two and he immediately sighed.
"Can't remember." He answered before tossing the Temari ball to his Festival Ryudra who instantly wraps its slender body around it playfully. The little imp fell to the floor and quickly nudged the ball with its small snout.
"You got that when you were a little bun?"
Kazahana shrugged, looking unsure of what he was doing. However, he shows signs of fondness when his blue eyes set upon the ball that his imp is playing. "You can say that..." He answered back to Fei who then crossed his arms in response.
"Is it a lucky charm of yours?" Fei asked, pointing his finger to the ball that Kazahana'a Ryudra was playing around.
"I guess...? Maybe yeah... yeah. I think it is a lucky charm." Kazahana said before settling his tone into a voice that showed his certainty now. Fei tilts his head to the side, a little doubtful of the way Kazahana expresses his words. It appears that Kazahana is in a small daze when he has this type of conversation.
"How so?"
Kazahana bites his bottom lip, sits down then crosses his legs on the floor while allowing his imp to toss and turn around near his feet. He looks away in deep thought, tapping his chin with a finger.
"Well... whenever I play with the ball I always get good luck on my side," Kazahana stated as he pulled out a small carat from his pockets. He plays it by fidgeting it around his fingers. "...example, I got a free carat from the floor, got a free coupon from one of the food stalls, or even got some additional freebies from the groceries."
Fei crossed his legs as he sat still on the stool. "So... you got so much free stuff because of that... toy ball?"
Kazahana chuckles and suddenly the little Temari ball bounces off the Ryudra's coils and it lands on his lap. He quickly tosses the ball back to his Ryudra who then coils itself around it again playfully.
"Yeah." He answered back before he continued. "Thanks to this thing I manage to get into the more... fortunate side of fate."
"So you used that thing as well when you were stealing my carats behind my back in the temple huh?" Fei asked and Kazahana gulped and nervously shook his head. Showing off a confident smile that he didn't do it for nefarious means... in Fei's perspective at least.
"Oh no no no... I didn't use it for that." He said while wiping off a nervous sweat that was trickling down his neck and chuckling awkwardly. "Hey now... I may steal shit but I don't do it with the use of my ball."
"Uhuh..."
"Don't give me that look! I promise that I didn't use it for that!"
Fei squinted his eyes, looking a bit pissed yet somehow showing amusement.
"Ooookay..." Said Fei while shaking his head. Kazahana sighed and stood up, catching the festival Ryudra's attention as it flew up elegantly and tossed the Temari ball back with the flick of its tail to Kazahana who then caught it with his hands.
Kazahana then pats Fei's shoulder in a manner of friendliness, although the tips of his smile creep up in a small unconscious smirk which thankfully Fei saw it since it is more of a brief change.
"Anyways... catch!" Kazahana called out to Fei and tossed the Temari ball hard to the other male Succubun. Fei caught it immediately with a shocked look on his face and Kazahana leaps up forward to wrap one arm around Fei's neck. "Good catch!"
"Enough... you are acting like a child." Fei scowled and Kazahana chuckled, his arm that was once around Fei's neck was then placed around his waist causing Fei to groan and push him off showing his discomfort. "Don't fucking touch me there."
The mischievous Succubun snickers and places his hands behind his back in an attempt to show an innocent display. "Okay there grumpy pants... my hands are off."
Fei sighed and quickly tossed the ball back to Kazahana to keep. "I know the ball is pretty and whatnot but I just realized I wasted time talking to you when I have to clean the rest of the temple though."
The black-haired Succubun chuckled and smirked, shaking his head, and quickly caught the tossed Temari ball with one hand off his back. "Got it... I will help later. Need to keep my Ryudra back to my room."
Fei nodded and grabbed off his broom to walk away to continue his tasks. Kazahana smirks wider as he brings out his other hand to jiggle the leather pouch of carats that he stole from Fei's back.
He puts the ball back into his pocket and unties the knot off the pouch to check the contents with a satisfied gaze of his sharp blue eyes.
Clicking his tongue, Kazahana puts the pouch back into his pocket and his Ryudra coils around his neck playfully with a twinkle in its eyes.
"Buddy, let's buy some dangos with these~" He said before turning around in the other direction to head out of the temple.
His Temari ball always works as a charm when it comes to having a carat or two for him.
The lucky Temari ball of the mischievous Succubun always gets what he wants.
