[Gift] Snowhouse Rockin' w/ Charon!
Starting a busy day is never quite easy, and with having rushed around all the days prior, it made the groggy feeling of getting up in the morning worse. Charon rubbed their eyes a bit as they woke up slowly, trying to ignore the alarm blaring.
A hand slumped over and hit the snooze button, quieting the room for now. It was almost quiet enough to go back to sleep to, though the succubun knew they better not fall into that sort of cycle.
They got up, got dressed, and all the usual things in the morning. Even trying to take the time to make breakfast today, compared to yesterday when they completely forgot to eat. And while eating, they noticed why they had forgotten to eat yesterday - they were late for practice.
Shoving the rest of the food in their mouth, they hurriedly rushed out the door. They were quite glad they decided to leave their equipment at the studio last night though, they'd never be able to sprint there with all those heavy things to lug around.
Today was fairly important actually, it was the day of a big gig, and Charon had been working extra hard to practice with the rest of their band in preparation. The show was supposed to celebrate the wintry surroundings, most of which isn't present in the city, though they've gotten snippets of snow a few times. It's not something they've seen much of, at least not in the sense of how stories were told of giant hills covered in the stuff. But seeing some slush on the side of the road is still neat, ya know?
They wonders how the stage will be decorated honestly, if it'll be based on those old stories the demons told them, of big piles of the stuff. It must look all sorts of magical, covered in fake snow and wintry looking flora, if they had to guess.
It didn't take long for Charon to get there, their studio was only around the corner and down a few blocks. Though, when they got to the studio, most everyone was quickly packing equipment, instruments, and other things they needed.
Afterall, they had to set-up everything today at the bar beforehand. And most of today couldn't even be practice technically speaking. The little time they will have, will mostly be mic checks and sound checks. So they're happy to have stayed late last night, probably upsetting a few buns who lived nearby the studio, but defiantly getting some good practice in!
A few buns motion for them to start grabbing some stuff and carrying it over to a van they rented for today. One of the band members was inside, positioning and stacking all their stuff like a puzzle game. It was kinda amusing watching them reposition things to fit every so perfectly.
And after a bit of time, they all finished up, and started heading over to the bar. Charon volunteered to ride in the back and shove their stuff over if it started to fall on itself.
A small trip across the city, and a few annoyingly tippy cases later, they arrived and started unpacking.
"Hey- Charon!" One of their bandmates called after them, waving to get their attention. "Can ya help me decorate the stage, the others said they'll unpack but 'are shit at arts n crafts'" Charon laughed a bit, especially considering most the decor they're using was already made. But agreed to help nonetheless.
There were all sorts of things in the boxes of decor they were allowed to use for free, borrowed from the church or made specially by some friends who had extra time. Some sparkly garlands stood out the most, white but with a few strands of silver thread that sparkled just perfectly. There was also a box filled to the brim with soft, plushy stuff you normally put inside stuffed toys.
"What's this for?" Charon held up a big globby handful of it, squishing it a bit in their hand. "We makin' little imp toys too?"
"Nah, some volunteers at the church said they use it to imitate snow," Charon looked at it again and tried to picture how exactly it remotely looked like snow. Maybe the fact it was a fluffy white blob?
"It'll look better from the crowd, trust me."
Charon shrugged and started sprinkling it across the stage per their bandmate's suggestion. He stood in the crowd, or where it will be soon at least, to try and get a good view of how attendee's will see their decorations.
And it took a little bit of adjusting back and forth, but eventually their entire stage was either covered in that fluffy stuff. There were also glittering stars placed upon the 'snow' piles and strung up, and garlands draped over various points of the stage. It looked like nothing Charon had ever seen before, and in the best way possible. They kinda hoped they saw some big snow hill like this someday though.
Pretty soon after, everyone was called up onstage to do a proper test on mics, and make sure nothing would go haywire partway through the performance. Thankfully it seemed everything was fine, just as some early guests started arriving. Various succubuns wandered in, some in goofy attire akin to the garlands Charon hung up before.
"ARE YOU READY TO PARTY!" The head of the band shouted into the mic, hyping up the early crowd, and gathering a few shouts of various 'hell yea!'s. It was rather quaint so far, but still excited nonetheless.
And as the band started to play, some devices above them seemingly activated to create a faux 'snowfall'. It was beautiful as a viewer, at least as Charon could imagine. They gathered looks from even the staff at the bar, all pointing and wowing.
It felt pretty awesome being up onstage too though, being dusted with 'snow' and looking just like a decoration of sorts. Charon only hopes the gimmick doesn't get in their eyes or somethin'.
a lil story of Charon preparing for a wintry rock show!
