Hours upon hours were spent in the Church of Sulfur's library. There many a mention of fantastical creatures with feathers but...only one kind of "bird" stuck around in Emiel's mind.

Their round features...small size, plump body of feathers, all he wished for was to hold one.

Jackal might as well be talking to a wall, as all Emiel can think of is simply these feathered friend-shaped beasts.
