The Good and the Bad

“Tch, ah..kind of tart?” Chewing on the crisp, juicy bite of apple, the ‘tartness’ caused Bonemeal to suck his teeth a little after answering the shorter succubun’s query. Lapping the side of his own lips, some of the juice of the apple dripped from his mouth when he first bit into it. Not wanting to look like a complete weirdo, use his whole tongue to lick up his chin and sides of his mouth…he brought up the sleeve of his snuggie hoodie to swipe the sticky wetness from the corner of his mouth, his gaze sliding down to the next apple core as Spaides dropped it onto the picnic blanket.

Spaides’d already enjoyed quite a few of his pickings, it had only been minutes before that they settled down with their basket of picked, shiny red fruits, the small hoard of impups and other imps settling in on the picnic blanket with them. And, tens of minutes before that, well, the skeleton themed Succubun remembered holding up the ends of his snuggie hoodie a little taut. He had been using the loose, moderately stretchy material of the end of his top to carry the apples as the shorter angora’d bun picked, and he’d even remembered one particularly juicy looking apple nearly rolling into his pocket too.

But yes, whether it was climbing trees for the tallest branches, or just hopping up to a lower hanging one, just high enough out of reach–the darker haired bun had no problems snatching up the best fruits. Soon, the weight of the apples were slowing Bonemeal down, and Spaides had to run off and quickly return with the basket to move the apples into. And there was a lot of thanking for the help afterwards, and well, here they were.

In his musings of what led up to them sitting here, Spaides had finished off a few more apples. One could almost seriously be worried about missing out on the apples, the full basket of apples in one’s distraction–hell, Bonemeal could even hazard a guess the dark haired fluffy bun was pacing himself. If these had been strawberries, well, they’d probably have not been able to sit down before they’d be back to picking. Smiling at Spaides crunching on apples, laughing and praising his own eye for fruit, Bonemeal took another apple in hand himself. Hearing those sun praises, he held the fruit up to the light, turned it around slowly with the motion of his wrist–

–spotting the pink little worm imp poking out of a hole. Between its wiggling and drawing back into the apple, and his own momentary surprise gaping at it, Bonemeal couldn’t tell who looked more mortified about the worm being spotted. Him, or the worm? Yeah, okay, it was just a weird little imp in his apple–maybe he was too used to being untroubled in this way, but he wasn’t about to pull out the worm and keep eating that apple.

Carefully setting the apple back down, the worm actually fully poked out and wiggled more vividly at that, and Bonemeal reached over to the next apple and hoped for…less trouble. Finally turning to eye the succubun greedily crunching on yet another apple, Bonemeal shrugged as he took a bite of the pristine apple, “Weren’t you planning to use these apples for a few good apple pies?”

Spaides merely shrugged as he even ate the apple core next, turning his head as he chewed, his full mouth shaping into a grin over at him, “Plans change.” His own shoulders bobbing at his own snickering, Bonemeal took another crisp bite

Short, written version of Hex's beautiful piece here, but when I started writing, in my head they're both in doll form.

I imagine the worm has to have been a stray imp or something LOL enjoying Bonemeal's apple.

Bonemeal used his snuggie hoodie like so.
