"Ryo" or Ryobu’s easy-going nature and penchant for subtle humor makes him an approachable figure, drawing people to him naturally. His interactions are often dusted with playful banter and teasing, leaving others both flustered and charmed. With his laidback demeanor and unhurried pace, Ryobu meanders through the lush forests and bustling streets of Burrowgatory. Ryo's steps are guided by a purpose beyond simple wandering; he is on the lookout for students eager to learn the art of the blade, his teachings as sharp and deliberate as the weapon he wields.  

 

Ryobu not only desires to teach, but also to seeks the legendary secret fruit. A "Mythical plant whispered of in the shadows of ancient tales, and elusive enough to be dismissed by most as mere folklore..." as Ryobu tells others. He delights in the bemused reactions of those who ask, relishing their curiosity without revealing the truth or elaborating. It's funny to him.

 

Ryo never discusses his sensei or his past. Whenever someone asks, he responds with an outlandishly ridiculous and obviously fabricated retellings. His favorite fake story to tell is that the mysterious fruit he seeks is actually the egg from which he hatched, and that he learned the way of the blade by studying waterfalls. You won't ever get a straight answer from him about most personal matters; he only shares if he believes it will benefit his students.

 

Ryobu values and practices the importance of patience and restraint, viewing the ability to exercise control and manipulate others’ patience (negatively or positively) as an art form.  This contributes to his skill as a flirt. Ryobu enjoys "playing with his food," as others have accused him of, ensnaring anyone interested in him with teasing and insatiable pining. It's all good fun to Ryobu, though it seems he may have his eye on somebun at the moment... Also relevant to his seemingly endless patience; Ryo can meditate for hours, sometimes even days, whether sitting on a park bench or a mossy stump in the wilderness, remaining completely unbothered by his surroundings.

I made Ryobu's bun form one random morning, and like. I was fucked. Look at him, he's perfect. I rushed to get him approved and finish his doll. It's pretty straight forward; big handsome watermelon samurai. The reason why he's watermelon themed is I wanted another tailless bun.... I love the tailless trait. Round creature.

When drawing him,  his left eye is always closed!

Ryobu is utterly fascinated by Void. Despite their disastrous first encounter, Ryobu refrained from causing serious harm, recognizing the immense potential in the pride bun. He also didn't see the fight as fair, given his vastly superior skills compared to Void's. There would be no honor in such a one-sided battle, especially since he didn’t even understand why they were fighting… So he merely staggered Void and left. Wondering if he’d ever see the handsome buck again. 

The brief fight with the dirty, wild, and beautiful stranger had him thinking of the buck who he didn’t even know the name of, even weeks later. He was starting to move on, cherishing the memory of their fight. However, soon after, he encountered Void again. Ryobu was pleased to discover that the adventurer wanted to learn from him and that they would be traveling together. He was also happy to learn how easy Void was to fluster, seeing nothing but endless potential in his violet eyes.
