This item allows you to create a tie between two characters. To do so, open the item in your inventory and click Propose Tie, then select the two characters that you want to create a tie between. You may propose a tie between two of your own characters, or between your character and another player's character.

At the time of your proposal, you can select the relationship label for the tie that will appear on your own character's Ties page. When the owner of the other character accepts the proposal, they can then select the relationship label that will appear on their character's Ties page.

The Red Thread will not be consumed if the proposal is rejected, or if you cancel the proposal.

This item allows you to sever the ties between two characters. To do so, open the item in your inventory and click Sever Tie, them select the character of yours whose ties you want to sever. This will sever all ties between the two characters selected, regardless of how many ties they have, and does not require confirmation from the owner of the other character.

This item allows you to alter the ties between two characters. To do so, open the item in your inventory and click Alter Tie, them select the character of yours whose tie you want to alter. This will allow you to change the relationship title used for the other character on your character's page; to alter the relationship title on the other side, the other character's owner will need to use a second Thread Picker.
