Somethin’ Stupid Like I Love You

Othello stood amidst a sea of waltzing shadows, the echo of a forgotten melody haunting the air. There, in the gentle swirl of dream and memory, Seraphina glided toward him, a vision of ethereal beauty veiled in the quiet stillness of their once-shared love. Her gaze, tender and sad, pierced the armor he didn't know he wore.

In the dream, they danced, a delicate balance of longing and regret. The world around them blurred into nothingness, leaving only the bittersweet tang of what could have been. Othello, emboldened by the dream's tender embrace, drew her close, her presence a balm to the chasm in his heart.

Seraphina's touch was a whisper against his skin, her hand cupping his cheek with a sorrowful grace. Their eyes locked, and in them, he saw the love that had never truly left, mingled with the pain of a bond strained past its breaking.

"I love you…" Othello murmured, the words slipping out like a secret he had kept locked away, a foolish spilling of truth in a moment suspended between reality and fantasy.

Seraphina's eyes shimmered, a gentle soul's response to a love that still ached. "I love you too." she echoed, her voice a lament wrapped in affection. "But loving you was like holding onto a dream I was never meant to live."

The music slowed, the dream began to fracture, and Othello could feel the slip of her hand from his cheek, the inevitable retreat from their stolen moment. He reached out, desperate to hold onto the fading image, to rewrite the wrongs that had driven them apart.

But it was too late.

Othello awoke, the remnants of the dream clinging to him like the lingering warmth of a lost embrace. Tears traced silent paths down his cheeks, sorrow for the love he had tarnished with his vanity, for the gentle soul he had overwhelmed with his own desires.

He lay there, staring up at the ceiling of his lonely room, the emptiness of his heart a yawning abyss in his chest.

"I'm sorry," Othello whispered to the empty air, the ghost of his regrets hovering over him like an omen.

I'm sorry.

He closed his eyes, allowing the darkness to swallow his grief, the silence of his loneliness wrapping him in its comfort.

"I'm so sorry."
