The Stage is My Place

If you asked Ballini what her favorite place to be, you would anticipate the answer to be at her apartment, at a local cafe, at any fashion store, Cottontail Couture or anywhere else except her actual answer: "On the stage when I am performing"
Her reasoning is that while she loved her solace at her own apartment and being able to do as she pleases outside her dancing, she was at her most happiest when she was on the stage, being on top of her toes and gliding across the stage with eyes captivated on her.  She LOVED knowing that other buns were enamored with her performances no matter what role she had and what performance it was. It was what she had worked so hard for, spent countless hours at the studio for and many many ballet pointe shoes broken in for. A flawless ballet performance that would have others talking for days on end. That was what she was so greedy for. That was why she had put in so much time and passion for. That was why she had gone to studio from dawn to dusk for.

All of that for a beautifully done ballet performance. All of that to be left on THAT stage. Then she could return to living a nice quiet life with her other hobbies that she could pour her time into.

The stage she often performed in was beautifully built and decorated surrounded by rows and endless rows of seats full of mesmerized audience. Above the stage were several rows of light, ready to set the mood for any scene necessary. There were several shallow boxes with crushed rosin backstage ready to assist with keeping ballet shoes from slipping when working their magic across the stage. There were several well organized dressing rooms for the performers to change outfits and to get ready. Just to the side and below in the front of stage was rows of seats and one pedestal perfect for the orchestra to perform music perfectly tuned and rehearsed for the performance.

There were always staff on hand at each and every performance to make sure wardrobe were perfect, not a single hairlock out of piece, the stage sets were built, painted and pierced together to perfection, To adjust the lights to highlight the mood with in perfect tune to the music going on, stagehands to pull curtains, and directors to make sure performers knew when it was their cue to enter the stage.

There were always bottles of water and snacks ready to replenish energy and kits of first aid to mend any sore limbs or injuries sustained on stage.

Before everyone even got to being on the stage, they had to first polish their skills and be cast into appropriate roles for the upcoming performances. Outfits had to be chosen along with accessories and hairstyles.
The music had to be prepared and adjusted. Musicians had to be selected in advance.
There had to be lot of rehearsals, sometimes all together, sometimes separately and sometimes specific scenes before it all came together in wardrobe rehearsals. There had to be promotions and photos taken. It required several hours worth of work put in through several stages before it would reach the final stage in front of everyone when it would go smoothly and without any hitch.

All of those hard work and long hours were why Ballini absolutely loved to be on the stage. She could lay out bare on that stage everything she had been working for. Wearing the outfits she had a say in. Wearing the accessories she had produced. Dancing with her ballet partner and fellow dancers who she had gone through many many sessions with.

It was a truly thrilling feeling to have for this greedy dancing bun.
