xe/xem pronouns preferred, though answers to any to confuse people

Echo is a famous singer, with an almost siren-like quality of voice. Both being able to reach delicate highs and haunting low tones, xe is a singing marvel that continuously fills out entire venues, no matter the day or hour.
Not much beyond xyr stage persona is known to the public, as xe is a rather reserved one, and likes it better that way.Despite the big amount of fans and otherwise that wish and try to get close to xem, both because of the fame, novelty and mystery... Xe spends just as much effort keeping most other buns at bay.

Very few people know the truth:
While xe was raised by a loving demon, the start on Burrowgatory was very, very rocky. Echo was picked up by an older bun, who'd become xyr mentor. At the same time, xe hopped from workplace to workplace as a waiter.
During xyr early days, xe also met two buns who would equally become very important to xem, one of them being Haze. He continously encouraged xem to pursue xyr passion for music, even building experimental equipment to aid xem in xyr quest. They both grew very close, toying time and time again with a friends-with-benefits deal.
While many good things were taught and learned for the couple of years xe was under mentorship, xyr mentor suddenly died one day. This threw xyr life in disarray, and practically went into hiding after it.

Xe resurfaced again years later, but barely looking anything as xe did at the start, so of course no one knew who this mysterious and extremely gifted singer was, as success kept elevating xyr status in the public life.

If there's anything Echo is greedy for, it is the applause and praise of others. Performing is one of the things xe loves the most, along with all sorts of positive reviews that come with it.
