MYO-2053: Avery
Relationships
There has never been a day where Avery did not think Abigail was annoying, or so he says. Despite this, they've actually always appreciated, admired, and held a deep respect for him. He saw how nothing could bring his brother down no matter what the world threw at him, how he seemed to always know what exact steps to take to get to what he wants, and how even when going through his own hardships he never failed to be kind. In contrast, their harsh childhood had done nothing but scrape away the confidence and kindness Avery held in his heart. As the older twin, Avery wound up developing a sense of inferiority when compared to Abby, which their troubled upbringing proceeded to twist into the deep-seated complex that resulted in his envy horns. His feelings towards his twin became increasingly complicated as his caretaker egged him on in an imaginary competition between them. Inevitably he realized that having skills and advantages over Abigail under such circumstances had brought him no joy, and over time Avery simply began to give up on trying at all. He thinks he hates Abigail, but he doesn't. Even if he did, he knows Abigail would love him all the same, and knowing that just makes him feel worse.
Avery sometimes call Abby "Bee" as a sort of retort against the nickname his brother chose for him. Although the two appear to at least get along now in adulthood, Avery still holds a lot of unresolved feelings towards Abby. For some reason, his twin is the only person the typically blunt and headstrong bun just refuses to face head on. Though in truth, Avery may simply be ashamed he couldn't be the one to take care of Abigail during everything they've went through, and now can't help but feel guilty about not being able to reciprocate even after all that he's done for them.
