Normally when Elyver looks out his window he sees the firey colors thst he calls home and buns going about their daily lives. The sky is darker now. The plant life he would take Stump out for a stroll in has gone dormant. The frost and dusting of snow is something he's not really not used to down here, but he doesn't mind it. He looked to Stump and watched as the little imp chased around a speck of dust floating down as it reflected the dim light. The little goof ball tripped over his own feet as he leapt in the air reaching for the speck, turning from a graceful hunter to a fumbling pile of soot.
Elyver shook his head and reached down for Stump, caressing him holding him close in his arms as he petted down his back and between his ears. He really did love the little innocent bean, so even though it was cold and dark he decided to take him for a nice stroll down their favorite path through their cavern ends.
He bundled Stump up in his poof jacket and little booties, adding a cute cat ear hat to the top of his head just to make sure he stays super warm. Elyver then dressed himself in his matching outfit, jacket mittens and hat. He loved to match with Stump, it was like couples outfits, (but more sad and depressing) and he could make sure he can't lost his imp if he's dressed in light colors, even in the darkness! He grabbed a leash and put it in his pocket and lead Stump to the trail.
Before they even got to the thick dense part of the trees and brush Elyver noticed such a change in his well known home. The bright warm lights and colors have been replaced by cool neutral ones, matching the new temperature. The frost and snow glistened all around them, dancing like glitter on the undisturbed plants and ground. His breath fogged out in front of him as he gave a deep sigh, the sight catching him off guard. He normally didn't find nature that intriguing but this was something intriguing. Maybe even enjoyable. The light bounced off of the ice making it much brighter as they go deeper into the woods, he could see everything as if it were almost daylight.
Stump pranced around at all the sparkles on the ground that caught his eye, chasing his prey happily and kicking up the light dusting of snow as he goes. He made sure not to go too far, but the light called to him as it danced in his vision. the small ice crystals never had a chance as the imp caught sparkle after sparkle, creating more sparkles as he continued his hunt. Then, the true trophy caught his eye. A beautiful and ginormous (2 inch) icicle hung from a tree branch, it gleamed in the light, shiny by kicked up snow as it taunted him. Stump gave a mighty leap onto a fallen trunk beside the targeted tree. His claws dug into the bark as he climbed skyward, heaving and hoing with every step up. He looked up, the icicle dangling just above his head. He pulled himself up onto the branch and gave a few puffs of air as the task was quite daunting. He looked outward toward the prey and crouched down, ready to pounce. The icicle never stood a chance. Stump raised his head proudly, his prey lay dead in his mouth.
Elyver picked Stump up from the branch (he didn't even have to stretch to reach him) He took the little imp and place him inside his own jacket, making sure he stays warm. He was running around a lot and got covered in snow, his body heat will keep him warm until they get home.
