klawd needed a drink. Hed promised Briar a trip into the cold snow, it wasn't snowing where they were but he knew where to find it, and Briar wanted it. He sat back and watched as Briar packed a bag, putting basically everything he owns into it. Gloves, hat, jacket, fire starter, a blanket, food, drinks (Thank Murmur), even a shovel and net. As he saw the bag busting at the seams he couldn't stay quiet. "Briar, do you really need all of that? we're just going for a walk near the outskirts..." he said, trying not to be too blunt.
Briar clipped the final latch on his pack and turned to face Klawd. "It's stuff for just in case!" he exclaimed, reaching for his winter wear.
"Just in case what?" he asked.
Briar stopped for a moment and just stared at Klawd. "Just in case I need it." he said slowly. Klawd walked into that one. He shook his head and took a breath as he walked over to the kitchen while Briar got ready. He poured himself a few shots before Briar got a hold of him and started to dress him up. He wrapped him in a scarf, putting a jacket over it followed by hat and gloves. Briar nodded, happy with his work. Klawd looked over to the giant bag Briar had sitting by the door. He gave him a warning look. "You can bring that bag if you really want, but im not carrying it for you if you get tired." he said sternly.
Briar smiled at him and gave him a kiss. "Don't worry about it."
Walking along the path the bag started to dig into klawds shoulders, the pack must have weighed at least 45-50 pounds. It was getting colder the further out they traveled, frost on the trees told them they were close to their destination. Briar smiled to Klawd and held his hand tightly in excitement. He wanted to see the snow so badly, Klawd had seen it once before and didn't get the appeal. coming up on a clearing there was a fresh dusting of snow, the white light reflected off of it and illuminated the whole area. The lights glittered and gleamed over the undisturbed snow as silence filled the air. Klawd heard a small gasp beside him. He looked over to Briar, an expression of wonder crossed his face as he stared straight ahead. After a few moments in silence a small whisper traveled through the air. "It's perfect." Briar said.
He took the backpack from Klawd and walked into the center of the small clearing, removing the blanket from the backpack and laying it on the ground. he sat in the middle and dug deeper into the backpack as Klawd stared at him in confusion. After a few moments Briar looked up to him and just patted the space next to him. Klawd made his way over and sat next to him watching intently. Briar took out a few thurmoses and handed two to him and kept two for himself. Klawd opened the first one and took a sniff, finding hot cocoa in it. Briar sipped his down quickly and gave a satisfied sigh, his breath making a puff of smoke in front of him. The other seemed to be hot soup. When did he have time to do this??
After enjoying their picnic they sat for a little, enjoying each others company in silence. He looked over to the opened backpack and had to ask. "By the way. what was the shovel for?"
"Oh!" he said, jumping up and moving his pack off of the blanket digging inside it. "I heard Shibani was offering stuff if he was given some snow. So I had an idea." he said pulling out the shovel and weilding it in both hands. he filled the spade with a pile of snow and flung it at Klawd. He covered his face just in time, keeping the Cold flakes off of his face. He stood up and got off the blanket quickly.
"What are you doing!?" he asked dusting himself off.
Briar flung several more loads onto the blanket before answering. "I'm filling.. the blanket... with snow.. to take to... Shibani!" he said between loads. Once the pile was high enough he threw the shovel down and tied the blanket edges to each other and made a pack out of it. He looked to Klawd, a big smile on his face. "It was a successful day! I got my picnic, and the snow I wanted!" he said happily.
"When you said you wanted the snow. I didn't think you meant literally. I thought you wanted to see it and go for a walk.
"It's not my fault you didn't listen." Briar said teasingly, a shiver glided threw his body.
"Are you cold?" Klawd asked.
Briar looked up at him. "Maybe a little." he murmured.
Klawd walked up to him and put his arms around his waist. "I know another activity that might warm you up." he said, leaning down to kiss him aggressively. Briar barely felt the pack before it was weighted down on his shoulders. Klawd pulled away and smiled at him. "Carrying that will warm you right up!"
(Writers note: that's what he wishes he did, he actually carried the backpack AND the blanket of snow back to Briars house.)
