Design Guide - Bun Horns

Every succubun grows a pair of horns upon reaching adulthood, and the shape of these horns is determined by the vice that most defined them in their adolescence.

For most of Burrowgatory’s history, there were five known types of horns, corresponding with sloth, greed, lust, gluttony, and pride. However, in April of Year 100, the envy subtype was discovered, bringing the total number of types to six.

Succubuns must have at least one fully unobscured, unbroken horn visible on their masterlist art so that their subtype can be easily identified.

Sloth

Sloth horns are small and nubby, with a rounded point shape. They sit on the crown of the bun’s head. They’re covered in a layer of velvet, which causes them to blend in with the top of the bun’s head, rather than having a defined base like all other types of horns.

Sloth horns affected by the Grand Horns trait become large, round horn lumps, still covered in velvet. Please take care not to design these horns so that they can be mistaken for a pair of animal ears—succubuns already have rabbit ears!

Greed

Greed horns are long, slim, and spiked like a goat’s. They can either sit on the crown of the bun’s head, or their forehead. They can curve slightly inwards and back, or be ramrod straight.

Greed horns affected by the Grand Horns trait can reach great lengths, either remaining thin or gaining a width proportional to their new length. They cannot become disproportionately thick or curved.

Lust

Lust horns are shaped like upside-down hearts. They sit on the crown of the bun’s head. These horns can be pointy or slightly rounded, but they cannot curl inwards. Their shape is that of a rounded, 3D heart, with the base firmly seated on the head—they should not look flat, or have part of the base “hanging off” the head.

Lust horns affected by the Grand Horns trait retain their heart shape, but become much larger. The width must increase in proportion to the length—they cannot only stretch out vertically so that they resemble greed horns. Please take care not to design these horns so that they can be mistaken for a pair of animal ears—succubuns already have rabbit ears!

Gluttony

Gluttony horns are wide set and curved upwards like a bull’s. They sit on the sides of the crown of the bun’s head, just above the ears. They can be straight or curved, but they must stretch outwards more than upwards, and they cannot curl all the way back in on themselves.

Gluttony horns affected by the Grand Horns trait can become longer, thicker, or both, but are otherwise bound by the same rules as above.

Pride

Pride horns are curled in on themselves like a ram’s. They sit on the crown of the bun’s head. These horns cannot curl upwards so high that the tip goes above the top of the horn’s curve, and they cannot have ridges without the Grand Horns trait.

Pride horns affected by the Grand Horns trait can take on a larger, looser curl, or can curve tightly enough to have multiple curls. They must still maintain the basic shape of pride horns, and may not have tips that reach above the top curve of the horn.

Envy

Envy horns are long and thin, with a gentle curve, rounded tips, and a single prong reminiscent of a deer’s antlers. They sit on the crown of a bun’s head. Standard envy horns cannot have more than one prong, which must branch off of the inner side of the horns.

Envy horns affected by the Grand Horns trait may become larger and take on additional prongs. They must still maintain the basic shape of envy horns, and the largest prong needs to be on the inside of the main body of the horn.

Broken Horns

Succubuns may have up to 1/3rd of one horn broken off, so long as the other horn is fully visible and intact. They cannot have both horns broken, or a horn that is broken off halfway or more.

Spikes on the Head

When the Spikes trait is used to add spikes to the succubun’s head, it cannot be done in a way that makes the spikes look like additional horns. All spikes should be no longer than the average pair of sloth horns, and their shape and color must be different from that of the horns.
