Coincedental Meeting
Fatima hummed softly as she stood in the line of the grocery store in her succubun form, tail slightly swaying behind her. She wasn’t going to cook today but when she got home, she realized that she needed to buy some groceries. So, she put all of her Toy Fair purchases away and now she’s here, waiting in line as she looked through the newest Bunstyle magazine. However when she looked up, she gasped and her eyes widened.
“Wait… no way.”
A bit ahead of her in line was a dark blue succubun with a sprouting leaf pattern on their ears, wearing a face mask.
Quickly Fatima looked down at the magazine then back up at the bun, then back down at the magazine then back up at the bun, pulling the magazine closer to her face as she examined the markings.
Her amazement quickly turned into confusion, “Wait but I thought… they didn’t like their bun form though.”
Then she remembered where she was, you have to be in bun form to shop here to begin with so, they probably had no choice.
“Still, I didn’t expect to see them here. Especially after I bought their merchandise. Hmm… I wonder…”
“Next please!”
“Oops sorry!” The colorful bun exclaimed, pushing her cart up to the register, trying to keep an eye on where Velveteen was going as she did so.
‘I hope I don’t lose them.’
As soon as all her groceries were paid for, Fatima made a beeline for the door and looked around, stopping someone who was walking by and asking if they saw a dark blue bunny anywhere, claiming that they were her friend.
“Oh uh sure, I think they went that way.”
“Thank you very much.” She curtsied to the succubun then quickly ran off in the direction they pointed.
‘Murmur I hope I don’t come off as some kind of obsessed stalker.’
Bolting around the corner, Fatima somehow managed to catch up with Velveteen after asking multiple other buns which direction they had gone. It was even more surprising that her grocery bag hadn’t ripped yet.
‘Okay Fatima, keep it cool. Don’t be creepy. Don’t scare them off. You got really lucky since there was a vending machine here, keep it cool. Keep it calm. Breathe in, breathe out. Deep breaths now. Don’t let them know you were chasing them through Burrowgatory.’
She took a deep breath then began to walk towards the vending beside the blue succubun, pressing a button for a really sweet drink.
As she bent down to grab her drink, “Uhm excuse me, I don’t mean to be rude but, is your name Velveteen?” She tilted her head curiously, blinking her green eyes a few times.
Velveteen was about to leave when they heard someone ask for their name, making them freeze in their tracks, then turn and stare.
“Yes? Why do you ask?”
Fatima’s breath hitched for a moment as she stared wide-eyed. It really was Velveteen. In their bun form no less.
‘Get it together girl! Say something! Don’t just stare at them!’
“Oh uhm, well… I was just wondering if I could maybe have your autograph? I-if that’s okay with you, I-I mean…”
The young succubun looked at the ground, her grocery bag in front of as her ears slightly wiggled.
“Y-you don’t have to i-if you don’t want-”
Velveteen stood in front of Fatima now, looking her over before his eyes dropped to the magazine sticking out of her bag.
“When did they get so close?!’
“So, you’re just another one of my fans then?”
Fatima nodded firmly, looking up at them, her eyes twinkling.
Velveteen chuckled then reached out his paw.
“Sure. I don’t mind giving you an autograph. Hand me that magazine.”
Fatima gasped and nodded vigorously, carefully pulling the magazine out of the bag and handing it over, then digging in her bag for a pen and giving that to them.
“So tell me, what’s your name?”
“Fatima Fontaine.”
Velveteen nodded, writing their signature on the magazine before handing it back along with the pen.
“Enjoy the autograph.” They said, picking up their grocery bag.
“Oh and, make sure you never tell anyone you saw me in this form. I’d like for it to still be a secret.”
“Oh of course! I promise never to tell a soul.”
“Thank you. I appreciate it. Enjoy the rest of your night.” Velveteen bowed politely then started to make their way home.
Fatima stood in that same spot for a bit longer, watching as the supermodel succubun disappeared around the corner.
She sighed dreamily as she held the magazine to her face reading the message, “To my fan Fatima, you have a very elegant name. I like it.”
Fatima gasped and her eyes lit up again as she read the message, “They like my name!” She squealed, hugging the magazine to her chest before putting it back in the bag.
“This has been the best day ever!”
After getting home and realizing that she needed to buy some groceries, Fatima heads to the store and while there, a chance meeting occurs
