Two Cherubs enjoy Tea

"Dove's been asking about you, Lessa" At that, the Cherubun froze as she slowly looked away, hands fiddling with each other as Casque sighed softly while leaning over the counter, a bottle of sparkling juice between them as he observed his friend chew on her lips; a nervous tic of hers.

"....Why?"
"Invite you they want. Tea time." Casque explained with an raised eyebrow as Lessa pouted. She was still uncomfortable with other Cherubuns despite being in Burrowgatory only few months. "Go. Good for you. They want try." Casque encouraged the Deaf Cherubun who glanced down at the bottle then grabbed it.

".....I'll think about it" She signed as she departed with the bottle. Casque could only shake his head. He hoped she would consider and go over. Dove had been asking about her for a while.

It took Lessa few days before she eventually sent Dove a text asking when she could come over for some tea with them. Dove had been rather thrilled and responded with an inquiry whether or not she would be free that following afternoon. With time set for the tea time plans; Lessa now had to get ready and she was understandably nervous.

"It will be fine" Her housemate and close friend, Rosetti-Briar soothed her while signing at her reflection in the mirror set in front of Lessa as the Gluttony fluffed up the long pink hair into a high ponytail with braids wrapped around the head.

"Dove is very sweet. You will enjoy" Rosetti-Briar smiled softly as Lessa nodded. After borrowing one of her dresses; a sea green halter dress with baby pink frilly underlayers and accents, Lessa was out the door and on her way over to Dove's.

Just as she arrived and raised a hand to knock, the door opened abruptly to reveal a grumpy Envy who softened upon seeing her.

"Hey Lessa. Dove's inside. Kitchen. Ah. Casque helped us learn for Rosetti-Briar. I'm going. Bye." It was obvious Jackal still struggled with signing but was clear enough for the shocked Lessa to understand. As the Envy nudged her way past, Lessa slipped her way inside the apartment to find Dove in the kitchen. The moment Dove spotted her, they moved away from the kitchen counter to wrap her in a warm hug before pulling away with a bright smile.

"You came! Thank you! Help me carry?" Dove gestured to the tiered stand with snacks on them. Lessa nodded as she grabbed hold and carefully followed Dove who was carrying a teapot to the dining room where table had been draped in lacy tablecloth and had teacups, container of sugar cubes, jar of honey and napkins ready.

After the winged Cherubun set down the stand, she settled into the seat that Dove had gestured to and allowed them to pour her a cup of herbal tea using special flowers from Heavenly Embassy. The nostalgic smell had Lessa sighing happily as she glanced to Dove who shared the same look.

"This my favorite tea blend! Pulled out for you" Dove explained with their hands and that had Lessa smiling as she reached for the shortbread cookies with chunks of chocolate inside. She also reached for the cucumber sliced resting on top of toasted bread that had been cut out into rounds and there was a dollop of herbal spread atop.
She recognized lemon-blueberry tarts, strawberry scones, mini cupcakes, and various jams to accompany various bread slices.

"This all look tasty" She smiled as she reached for honey jar to add some to her tea as Dove helped themselves to the scone and mini cupcakes.
"Thank you! Jackal helped little. Oh! Cupcakes are lemon, chocolate and vanilla!" Dove signed, gesturing to the yellow frosted cupcakes then the chocolate frosted cupcakes and last, the white frosted cupcakes. "We made too many" they pouted as Lessa giggled

"I can take some home? Rose would love them" She suggested which seemed to brighten Dove's mood as they nodded eagerly. "She loves cupcakes" Lessa smiled as she took a bite of the cookie before her eyes widened.

"Oh! Those are really good!" Lessa exclaimed as she took another bite much to Dove's delight.
"Those took me long time to perfect" Dove admitted with a shy smile as they sipped their tea. It was clear that Lessa rather enjoyed the cookies as she kept going back for them despite snacking on other options.
The two Cherubuns continue to sip their tea, enjoy the snacks and chatter for while until they had emptied out the teapot. Lessa packed up some of snacks into some to-go boxes and set aside while she helped Dove clean up the dining table and kitchen.

When Lessa was getting ready to head out, she gave Dove a hug then carried the to-go boxes to the door where Jackal was slipping inside. The two blinked at each other before Lessa gave a quick wave and hurried past.
