Peach Hellinis 101

Not even the heavy door of the workers’ break room could properly suppress the sound of the bustling Wonderland Casino, jam-packed with clients. Loretta’s limbs were spread up on the chair as she fanned herself with a handkerchief, occasionally patting off sweat with it, careful not to smear the makeup on her face. “Today’s a totally insane day. I don’t think I can stand up anymore, Hoppy~” she groaned out, throwing her head back.

“Yeah, it’s an unusually busy night.” The skinny bartender plopped down next to Loretta to catch her breath. “We could really use some help at the bar too. Do you know how to mix drinks?”

“Huhh? Drinks? Like, those fruity cocktails?” The pink doll peeped up at her coworker. “Nope, not a single clue!”

Hops sighed, disappointed that a waiter at their Casino was really only good for getting good tips from the clients. “Can you come in to work early tomorrow so I can teach you at least a few cocktail recipes in case we’re so busy again? It would be a huge help!”

At first, Loretta hesitated, her face scrunched up in thought. She wasn’t too enthusiastic about having to pass on extra time for herself just to spend at work. “Does that, like… mean I’ll be able to make my own yummy fruity cocktails?” Hops nodded in desperation, eager to get the pink doll to agree. “That’s totally worth it!”

“Great!” Hops was energized by her coworker’s agreement and got up from her seat, stretching her arms. Before she left the room to get back to work, she looked back on the pink doll. “Then I’ll see you tomorrow!”

The next day, Loretta made her way to the Wonderland Casino. She was greeted by the bright neon signs of the establishment that never sleeps, but went around to the back door to find the employee entrance. Her senior workmate Hops was already in the break room, getting her uniform on.

“Heya, Loretta! Thanks for coming in early, I really appreciate it!” She greeted, looking much more well-rested and enthusiastic than last night. “So, what’s your favorite cocktail?”
“Hmm? My favvy-fav? Um, like, I totally love Peach Hellinis~”

“Oh! That’s nice, a very simple one to make!” Hops fixed up her uniform and stood up straight to look up at Loretta. “Shall we?”

Once they got to the bar Hops took out a peach puree from the mini fridge as well as a bottle of sparkling white wine.

“So, like I mentioned, a Peach Hellini is a very simple one to make!” She spoke while getting the utensils necessary for making the cocktail. “You just get some peach puree and champagne, mix them up,” Hops went through the steps while narrating, “and ta-da!~ You’ve got a Peach Hellini!”

“Wooow, that’s sooo cool!” Loretta softly clapped, impressed by the simple recipe. “That’s crazy that it’s only, like, two ingredients! Like, even I could do that, you know??”

“Exactly!” Hops encouraged her coworker excitedly. “Can I rely on you to take care of the Peach Hellinis tonight?”

“Totally!”
