Maidservice Mistake

Raiben was walking past the shops as usual, looking for something to fill whatever it was he felt he was missing. He paused briefly outside Beanny’s cafe when he noticed they had Cream filled Eclairs on display to go with their coffee. Oh it was tempting.

Half prancing into the shop however, Raiben was stopped short by a notice on the corkboard. Raiben looked at the cute little feather duster displayed at the top of a page. The big bold letters caught his eye more however. “MAID SERVICE REQUIRED” He hadn’t expected to see anything like that in one of the places frequented by Cherubuns.

Raiben didn’t even bother reading the rest of what was on the paper. He just grabbed it off the board and took off to get ready. Whoever needed such maid service would be in for a treat, he was the best at what he did and they would be wanting for nothing. He was so excited. Nevermind sweet treats and creamy drinks he would have a much easier time filling that void with this.

Raiben nearly startled all his imps to fainting with how quickly he slammed his door open and bolted upstairs. Donning the perfect outfit for the job, he slipped his long jacket overtop to keep it a surprise. He fed his imps quickly before he left and made his way to the address listed.

He hadn’t been this excited in a while. In fact, he pretty much ran to the address on the paper. Pausing however at the sight before him. Was he at the right place? Someone cleared their throat nearby. Raiben turned to see Primrose standing tall and looking down at him. That look could melt someone if they weren’t careful.

Primrose looked down at the paper clutched in his hand. “Ah, are you here for the maid job perchance?” Raiben was so distracted trying to figure out what Primrose could want with such a service, they were a bit of a stick in the mud as far as he could remember. Then again, everyone had urges and kinks.

“Yes, that’s right. Rai at your service~” Raiben did his best version of a curt bow, flashing the most playful expression he could manage as he tried to guess what Primrose may have been thinking. Could he call them Prim? Would he be allowed if he did a good enough job? Perhaps Primrose would prefer sir or master?

Raiben watched as Primrose pursed his lips and tried not to scowl. “I’ll do a good job.” Raiben assured him. Surely Primrose was only making that face because he wasn’t a cherubun. But Raiben was certain he could live up to whatever it was that Primrose needed. His tail swished slightly back and forth with anticipation, though he quickly stilled it when that cold gaze swept to the movement.

“Very well. Follow me.” Primrose spun gracefully and began walking away. Raiben smiled wide, big blue eyes beaming with joy as he followed along. Once inside Primrose nodded to the coat rack near the door. “You may put your jacket there.” Raiben nodded and shed the coat, revealing the skimpy maid outfit he had on, knee high socks, short skirt, and a big bow complimented the skimpy top.

Primrose's eyes widened for a moment before he glared, gathering himself with poise. “I see you….have come prepared.” Raiben smiled wide. Primrose tried his best not to grimace and shoo the bun away. Good help was hard to come by after all. Pinching the bridge of his nose gently he waved for Raiben to follow.

“You’ll be taking care of dusting every surface in the building today. And make sure you wipe it down afterwards. These are what you’ll be needing today.” Primrose showed Raiben the shoulder bag he would be using that had everything he needed. The duster, the spray to shine up and disinfect all the surfaces, and of course rags.

As it all started to click in Raiben froze up. Maybe he should have actually read that posting after all. The prim and proper bun here didn’t want a Maid to fuck around with. He wanted someone to do literal maid work. Raiben pouted as he stared at the bag.

Primrose saw the expression, and with an exasperated sigh, prepared himself to have another bun walk away. “Is there a problem?” He expected the little femboy bun in front of him to wither and make some excuse, however to his surprise, Raiben slowly lifted his head, a bright smile replacing the pout that had just been there.

“No problem at all. Mister Primrose~ I’ll do my best.” Raiben wasn’t about to back out. At least he got to dress up and sure cleaning may not be his favorite task, but maybe, just maybe, if he did a good job, he could at least sucker a little praise out of the cherubun. He left Primrose standing there wide eyed and staring after him.

Raiben spent the next few hours diligently dusting and scrubbing everything he could get his hands on. Being in doll form at least meant he could make sure everything up high got done as well. Every once in a while, just to be absolutely certain, he would take a white tissue and run it over random surfaces to make sure it would come back clean.

Every once in a while he would catch Primrose peeking into a room, though that signature scowl of his seemed to be gone. Every now and then he would see Primrose going behind him in a different room and running a finger over random surfaces. Raiben couldn’t help but smile when Primrose looked all high and mighty running a slender finger over a surface most wouldn’t think to even bother with.

The disappointed, yet pleased mix of expressions on the Cherubuns face had Raiben smiling wider and working even harder. He even took it upon himself to properly wipe down the door handles and edges as well. Any commonly touched space. The work was exhausting, but hearing Primrose mutter to himself in another room every once in a while made it worth it.

Raiben would never settle for doing a bad job. Especially not on something he himself took on. He did pause for a little while in the study, eyeing several of the books. He skimmed a few of the titles, pausing in his cleaning long enough to peek at a book he had never seen before.

Primrose saw the bun flicking through a book, and he had half a mind to yell at him. Instead, he came in calmly and quietly. “Finished this room already?” Primrose tried not to smile at the startled expression on the Succubuns face. Watched as the bun tucked the book away in exactly the right spot and admitted he wasn’t done yet. Primrose walked over and took the book Raiben had just been peeking through. “Please finish up then. I do believe I’ll be taking this. We don’t need you getting distracted again.” A slight sneer was cast Raibens way.

Raiben just bowed his head. “Of course. I…I’m sorry. I’ll do a good job.” He didn’t look up until Primrose had left the room. Which meant he missed the expression the bun had made, missed the small smirk at his manners. But once Primrose was gone, Raiben finished the last of the rooms as quickly as he could.

When everything was finally finished. He found Primrose in the garden. “Um..I’m all done now.” He watched Primrose look over his way, that same stuck up expression on his face. Raiben kept his smile on. “Would you like to come see?”

Primrose however made no move from the spot he was standing. “No. Unless you got sloppy at the end, I’ve no reason to check.” Primrose turned back to what he was looking at now. Aware of the footsteps coming closer. Glancing at Raiben who was trying to see whatever Primrose was looking at, he scoffed.

Raiben heard the scoff and flinched slightly but peeked up at him with pleading eyes anyway. “So…if you don’t want to check…that means I did a good job right?”

Primrose rolled his eyes. “I suppose it’s satisfactory.”

Raiben slowly slipped a little closer. “Is that your way of saying ‘well done’?”

Primrose eyed Raiben with something that wasn’t quite distaste anymore, but he still clearly wasn’t pleased. He lifted a hand in order to shoo the bun away slightly, and then he caught the way Raiben looked at his hand and tilted his head. Oh good gracious no. Did this beast expect to be treated like the animal it was?

Those pleading blue eyes however did remind him more of an innocent bun than whatever beasts were running amok in Burrowgatory. As Raiben asked him again whether he did a good job, Primrose sighed heavily. And turned to look away from him. He could almost feel the bun pouting.

Raiben shifted his weight, ready to move on from this, and that’s when it happened. Primrose was still turned away, there was still a scowl on his face, and yet his hand fell upon Raibens head gently. His hair was given the slightest ruffle, barely enough to be considered a pat at all. But it had Raiben absolutely beaming.

“Thank you!” He chirped brightly, bubbling back to life. “If you need help in the future don’t hesitate to come find me~” That pat from Primrose was a great reward, hell he didn’t even care about being paid for his time. THE stuck up, stick in the mud Prim and Proper just gave him a pat for a job well done! He turned to leave happy as could be.

“Wait.” Primrose stopped the bun from leaving. Gently tapping the book he confiscated earlier on his thigh as he seemed to consider something. The bun before him looked surprised already but… “You’re forgetting something.” The visible confusion on the buns face was delightful, he heard him muttering about putting things away, and already knowing to get his jacket on the way out, something about not being worried about payment. “Not that. This.”

Ravens eyes widened as Primrose held out the book. “Oh. Right of course, I should put it away.” how could he have forgotten. He gently took the book from Primrose.

“Perhaps.” Primrose started. As he turned away to face the flowers again. “After you’re finished with it you can bring it back and put it away.”

Raiben clutched the book to his chest. Eyes shining brightly. “I promise I’ll bring it back in perfect condition. Thank you so much Prim!” Realizing his mistake he quickly zipped away before Primrose could reprimand him over the shortened name. He grabbed his jacket and all but ran home.
