Chapter Three: Caring for Plants

Chester woke up and stretched. He blinked a few times in confusion. Chester knew he wanted to do something today but couldn’t really remember what. He decided to take a shower first and eat breakfast. After Chester had eaten something and drank a huge cup of Tea, he looked at the Calendar and saw what he wanted to do today! He quickly got dressed before stepping out of his house.

Chester saw on his Calendar that another week had passed and he was once again on his way to the Heavenly Embassy. He had already planted seeds of Ambrosia Flowers and delivered a crate of tea to Dove. Now he was excited and curious about what his next task, to support the Embassy, will be.

When Chester entered the Heavenly Embassy he was smiling enthusiastically, today he will do his best again. Chester searched for primrose and found him working in the greenhouse.

“Good Morning Primrose~” he purred.

Primrose was startled as he didn’t hear Chester approach . “Ah- Oh Chester, good morning.” he said, trying to hide the fact that he just got startled.

“I am here to help you again~! What can I do today?” Chester asked with a friendly smile.

Primrose looked at the plants in the Greenhouse, “Well, I was just about to water all these plants and repot some of them, but that's a thing you could do then.” he said.

“Oh yes gladly, that sounds fun!” Chester purred and grabbed the watering can, but Primrose stopped him.

“Not so fast!” The Cherubun said. “We will need someone to supervise you, I don't want the plants to be over watered. Ambrosia Flowers are very delicate.” he explained.

“I could call Dove over, she would be happy to help! At least I think she would be.” Chester said and Primrose nodded before leaving Chester alone in the greenhouse. Chester took out his Phone and called Dove.

“Hello? Dove here~” the Cherubun on the other end said.

“Hey It’s me, Chester~” Chester purred into the phone. “Could you come over and help me with the Plants in the Heavenly Embassy? Primrose won’t trust me with watering the Ambrosia Flowers alone.” he added with a little laugh.

“Oh sure~ I’ll come right over, give me 10 minutes~” Dove said happily and hung up.

Chester waited a little while and started to already fill all the watering cans he could find. While he was filling up the last one, he heard a sweet voice behind him. “Hey Chester~” Dove said and smiled cutely.

Chester spun around a little shocked, Dove arrived earlier and quieter than expected. “Ah- Dove you startled meee.” He said with a playfully sad expression. “Ooooh I am sorryyy.” Dove said, also playfully sad.

After a little while of fooling around, Dove and Chester started to actually work. Dove showed Chester how much water the different kinds of Ambrosia Flowers needed, which of the saplings needed a bigger pot and which plants were ready to be delivered to Primrose. Chester did his best and started by transferring the saplings to bigger pots.

“Like this?” he asked.

“Yes! That's perfect!” Dove praised and Chester purred. He continued to repot the plants and hummed a little, gardening was a really relaxing activity. After Chester were done with this he took one of the watering Cans.

“Now we can water all the plants, yes?” he asked Dove, hesitant so he won’t do anything wrong.

“Yes~ We can start watering now, remember some need more water and some less, do you think you do that?” Dove asked, looking a little worried.

“Of course I can! Don’t worry~ I will ask you when I am unsure.” Chester purred and started to water the many plants in the greenhouse. There were a few ones where Chester needed to ask Dove because he was unsure, but all in all he managed to water everything as needed. He took some time though and when all the plants were watered, every sapling was repotted and all the plants ready for delivery were gathered, it was already early evening.

“Okay now you just need to deliver those plants to Primrose and you're finished~” Dove purred and smiled.

“Can you do this alone? Jackal and I wanted to go eat in a restaurant this evening~” she added, blushing slightly.

“Oh sure! That is no problem~ Have a nice date and thank you so much again for coming over to help me!” Chester answered and hugged Dove gently.

“Thank you Chester~ See you then!” Dove said happily and left the Embassy.

When Dove was gone, Chester started to carry the ripe plants over to Primroses Lab. Since Chester wasn’t a very patient Succubun, he took as many of the pots as physically possible in his arms and hands and staggered to the Door, balancing the pots carefully. That was until Primrose suddenly opened the door, startling Chester who jumped backwards and threw the pots up. In an almost cartoony act of catching and balancing, Chester managed to got all the pots safely back in his arms. Primrose stared at him for a few seconds before bursting into laughter. It was the first time Chester saw primrose laughing, and he laughed too, mostly in relief that no plant was destroyed. After both of them took a deep breath, Primrose cleared his throat and looked serious again.

“I see you’re finished with your task?” he asked, even though the answer was obvious.

“Yes~ Everything watered,repotted and these are ready for you to use~” Chester purred.

Primrose nodded “Okay, place them here on the table and then you’re good to leave.” he said and Chester carefully placed the pots on the table. “Good work.” Primrose praised.

“Thank you~ I’ll be back next week to help you here again~” Chester purred and Primrose nodded.

“See you next week then.” he said and then went back into his room.

Chester then went back home. He felt good as he helped the Embassy today again and that's a good thing, right?
