Yama wasn’t sure how it got to this point, his hands wrapped around a cocktail shaker, vigorously shaking away as he felt the cool sting of the metal container quickly growing colder. Oh, right. Hops, the bartender. Yama may or may not have had a crush on the pink rabbit, but truth be told, there were a lot of rabbits that made Yama a little nervous. How was he supposed to help it with all the attractive beings in Burrowgatory? Call it a sin.
So, naturally, when he found out there was a way to spend some alone time with the ditzy bartender, he took it. And that’s how he found himself learning how to make drinks. Attempting to, at least. Hops had made it look so easy when she went over how to make the drink. He had followed her instructions, throwing in the ingredients laid out for him to make her signature clawdka, and now it was time to get the cap off.
Which seemed slightly stuck. Perhaps he had shaken it for too long? Who knows. He wasn’t the expert here; he just drank whatever was handed to him.
With a swift hit to the counter, Yama was able to loosen the lid and pop it off, dumping the contents into the drink's corresponding glass. "Well?" he asks, gesturing to his newly created drink, waiting for Hops to check his work.
"You did a good job. It wasn't as hard as you thought it was going to be, right?" she asks in her cheerful tone. Yama can only scoff in reply, turning his head to look away.
"Yeah, it wasn't so bad," he agrees, taking a seat at the bar and bringing his newly created drink closer to himself. "I feel like there are a few more things to learn though," Yama mutters. In truth, he was just looking for an excuse to stay longer. Hops would make good company in any sense, and naturally, having alcohol around was another plus.
"You'll get it in no time," Hops replied with a smile, moving to pick up her serving tray that rested on the counter. Yama wished he had better reflexes, as before he could even react, he watched as Hop’s tray hit a bottle of white wine that had been on the counter. A loud crashing sound echoed as the bottle connected with the floor, sending shards of glass and wine spilling onto the floor. "Oh, not again!" Hops exclaimed, setting the tray aside so she could move to get cleaning supplies.
When Yama had heard of Hops’ infamous clumsiness, he had honestly thought the recounts to be pure exaggerations. But now that he was seeing it in person, well... he could see they were true. Poor Hops. With her still gone, Yama decided to quickly throw back his drink while he waited for the bartender’s return.
With broom in hand, Hops returned and Yama spent the rest of his time with her helping tidy up. Maybe he could ask to hang out again some other time...
