Dragged to Beanny Blends
When Casque had found about the Heavenly Embassy and especially Paradise Cafe, he had quite the vehement reaction to the thought of attending the cafe which had Dove quickly dropping the topic and Jackal to furrow her eyebrows in concern at him.
When the darker male envy had not returned to the apartment for their weekly tea time or dinner two weeks in row, Jackal had gone to the winery where she knew the angry bun to live and she was right; he was currently in the fields and inspecting the grapes.
"What the fuck has gotten onto you?"
At her snappy greeting, Casque jolted up and scowled at her.
"None of your fucking business!"
"You skipped the last two tea time and two dinners. Dove's worried and I'm pissed." Jackal snarled and Casque had to pause at that.
"......I do apologize." His shoulders slumped and Jackal frowned.
"......I'm not fond of coffee cafes, not since....." He trailed off and she was oddly reminded of that time he had gotten attacked which had led her to insist on more frequent meetups. That and his views on relationships had drastically shifted since Dove came into her life.
"......Does it have anything to do with that time you stupidly made that series of decisions that led to your attack?" Casque's stiffening posture was the answer she needed and she moved over to gently pull him to the ground so they were more comfortable on the grass.
"Yeah. One of the buns involved owns a coffee cafe. I haven't been able to attend any cafes or even look at any since then because my decisions then were incredibly stupid." He was not going to elaborate and Jackal groaned.
"Your usual break couples up bullshit?" His nod confirmed her suspicions.
"I'm surprised that wasn't what got you to stop" Casque snickered
"Not really. I just got better at figuring out who is likely to get physical aggressive and who isn't." He admitted "I only stopped after Dove showed up and I saw how you two were together. Not to mention how they are..."
".....A cherubun softening our envious edges. Who would've known" Jackal joked as she reached over to ruffle his hair which he swatted at.
"You still should visit Paradise Cafe though. Dove wants us to at least get to know the others....You already stopped by to see Primrose." She pointed out and Casque scowled
"He's a fucking prissy ass." He snapped much to her amusement.
"I'll accompany you. I need to pick up some tea blends for Dove anyways." Jackal offered and he sighed but accepted that.
"I still hate elevators." Casque grumbled as Jackal punched in a button inside the elevator with a snort. "Me too. Still can't get used to them. Dove loves it though."
"You've fallen for them" Casque observed, moving away from her swat at his shoulder while snickering. Once they had arrived, they stepped off the elevator and headed for The Paradise Cafe. Casque secretly felt relieved that there were no familiar faces around as they hopped onto stools near the register.
"Oh hello Jackal! Who's this newcomer?" A warm voice called out and Casque glanced up toward a dark skinned doll with pale pink hair and ears.
"......I keep forgetting that Cherubuns don't have horns. Dove's the only one down there.....Your halo is rather spiky though" Casque immediately pointed out while eying her spiky halo and Jackal snorted in soft laughter. The Cherubun let out a soft laugh as she handed over a menu to him "I'll be back for your order~" She chirped as she trotted off to take another order from another cherubun.
"You were fine with Primrose!" Jackal snickered as Casque scowled
"His prissy ass put me off so much I barely noticed that stupid halo of his!" He pointed out much to her continuous laughter.
"By the way, that's starlit halo. Dove has ring and Primrose has disc." Jackal explained once she had calmed down from her laughter and Casque nodded while glancing over the menu. The choices were surprisingly decent. When the cherubun returned, Casque immediately ordered a nutty flavoured coffee with light milk and a simple pastry. She nodded, took Jackal's order and left to fulfill them.
"Thanks Beanny." Jackal spoke upon receiving her coffee and Casque nodded at her.
"....Ah by the way. My name is Casque. Apologies for my manners earlier." He spoke up just as Beanny turned away. She smiled brightly at him with a laugh
"You're all right! You're not used to seeing cherubuns are you? Such words are to be expected. Through I am rather curious about your horns...?"
Casque sipped his coffee, hummed in contentment before glancing to her.
"Oh. They're envy like Jackal's through they do have glass parts...." One of his spirit motes glided through one of the antlers. "I'm not sure why they have those liquids but I have suspicions it has to do with wines...."
"Wines?" Oh she was curious now and Jackal quickly injected with "Alcohol" which had her pouting.
"Oh yeah I had forgotten that you can't have alcohol. I'm still experimenting with making my wine free of alcohol since I know Dove's intrigued by them." Casque explained and Beanny beamed
"Sounds like you two are close!"
"....Not by choice but it's a long story. I don't resent it through; their company is nice." The male Envy shrugged as he munched on his pastry as Beanny had a chuckle.
Casque has bad association with coffee but Jackal drags him along anyways
He's a disaster
