Ballini Goes Punk??
It was not often that she ventured outside her comfort zone especially regarding her fashion but by sweet demons below did she really have to not only come up with several dark, punk, grunge, gothic aesthetic fashion designs for the upcoming performance but she also had to handle the jewelry and accessories too?
That was too much for her to handle but Ballini had agreed to it as she absolutely despised the mere thought of having to wear SOMEONE ELSE's designs during a performance. YUCK. That was how she had ended up at some random store that catered to more alternative aesthetic and sold fabrics as well as everything else that she would be needing.
With a soft sigh, she entered the store and was immediately surrounded by tartan, demin, leather, mesh and vinyl fabrics. Thinking it would be easier to start with accessories because the fabrics were looking rather overwhelming, Ballini went to look at the materials only to stare at chains, spikes, studs and safety pins. Holy sweet Church of Sulfur, this did not help any.
Dragging a hand down her face as she groaned to herself while cursing her studio for even asking her to do this, but she had agreed and she would not back out of this. At least she had some ideas of the design to use; she just needed to grab several fabrics to do mock up and finalize the designs.
First. The mesh. The foundation of her designs. The base to match everything else to. A material she's intimately familiar with. Similar to lace and chiffon.
She grabbed a open mesh in purple and more tight weave black mesh with green floral vines embroidery. Then she was heading toward the tartan fabric section. There were so many types of patterns and colours. She was going to have to come back for future projects actually. There were fabrics here that Peter did not stock after all. She eventually grabbed a gray tartan plaid, black and red houndstooth plaid as well as purple and green gingham plaid. They would all do.
Ballini glanced to the denim and leather sections as well as vinyl. None of those were needed for her projects and she despised vinyl. However leather and denim would be good to experiment with so she grabbed denim in several washes and leather in both black and dark brown. Fabrics all selected; it was now time to look at the accessories. It was fairly easy for her to grab silver chains and spikes before she was checking out at the register with her purchases.
"You do not look the type to be into alternative fashion." The cashier stated dryly while looking up and down at Ballini who scowled.
"Am I not allowed to make purchases of fabrics that I would not normally use?" She snapped and the cashier rolled their eyes as they rang her through.
Ballini grumbled to herself as she exited the store with several bags in her arms. She was going to have to go home and sort out her purchases as well as get them turned into actual pieces. With a deep groan, Ballini turned into the direction of her home only to blink as she spotted a certain pair approaching.
"Eh? Ballini? What are you doing here?" Jackal's rough voice called out and Dove ran over to wrap arms around her in a hug which had Ballini smiling slightly.
"Hello. I was just buying some fabric and other stuff to work on some designs that my dance studio requested..." She sighed as Dove and Jackal shared a look.
"You'll have to show us the finished designs. I'm sure it'll be fantastic." Dove smiled and Ballini eyed the cherubun
"....It would be Jackal's approval I'd need since alternative fashion is kind of her thing...."
".....oh shit" Jackal swore
"Indeed." Ballini adjusted her hold on the bags "I'll show you the completed designs in couple of days, yeah?" She eyed Jackal who nodded.
Once Ballini was at home and she had her purchases scattered everywhere on the floor in her personal fashion studio; she reached for her sketchbook to flip through pages for design ideas. Soon, she had decided on a short ballet dress with the purple mesh overlaying black frills skirt, and leather corset with deep neckline exposing the cleavage, the accessories would involve lot of chains around the ears and connecting the horns; black torn leggings with studded open brown leather vest; and a long asymmetrical dress with various alternating layers of mesh and tartan skirts, leather corset with buckles and spikes off shoulder straps. They had taken her several days in total to turn into actual pieces and lot of cursing as she was not quite used to working with the materials.
The last dress was a personal project for herself and Ballini found herself rather liking it quite a bit especially the way few layers of mesh had rips in them. Not to mention she could easily wear her fishnet stockings underneath and pair it with her more darker jewelry. Ballini had found one of her very few high heels in dark purple to compliment the dress.
She had just put on the high heels when she heard soft knocking at the door. Slowly getting to her feet, she made her way to the door to open it to Jackal and Dove who both dropped their jaws in shock at her attire. Ballini flushed at their reactions and glanced down at the dress.
"That actually looks fantastic on you." Jackal complimented and Dove nodded as Ballini flushed darker.
"Thank you....My other pieces all got approved by my studio and I was going to show you two this....." She admitted quietly and Jackal chuckled slightly.
"It looks fuckin amazing on you. Let's get going, we have reservations waiting" The envy doll stepped aside so Ballini could exit her apartment. Dove immediately linked arms with her as they moved away as Jackal closed the door behind her with an audible click.
"I love the skirt on you!" Dove complimented as they departed for their dinner together.
She'd have some trouble changing her aesthetic oops
