Mixology 101
''-That is a bit…Too much. Oh dear, okay let's just restart..''
The gluttony bun said as she shook her head, the drink being prepared prior now completely ruined.
Dr.D'amour had accepted to take a day off or two, usually being at the clinic most of the time and practically spending his life taking care of patients. Having grown increasingly bored from being in his small appartement, he had booked mixology lessons with Hops, who offered some knowledge in her Mixology 101 class. Nothing too hard, really…or so most would think.
The doctor had steady hands and was quite smart, yet for some reason it seemed like he simply couldn't grasp most of the recipes and the art of mixing. Today's lesson was supposed to teach him how to mix a delicious concoction called ''Peach Hellini''. A mixed beverage of champagne and peach juice, sometimes with extra slices of peaches to make it more appealing, as well as a touch of- right. Secret ingredient. Nothing too hard to do..or so Hops thought.
''-Mh? Oh. My apologies, I thought it needed champagne into the mix!
-Yes it did, but not THAT much! How are we supposed to add the juice if you've already filled the glass to the rim?
-That… is a very fair argument.'' Said the colourful bun as he pushed his glasses back further onto his nose. Clearly, doing mixology in their bun forms wasn't a good idea. Perhaps steadier hands of the doll form would be better, which Hops decided to do as she turned into her doll form, prompting the doctor to do the same. Once in such form, the doctor did clear his throat as he saw the other bun pointing at the bottles, basically asking him to try again. He gripped the champagne bottle and poured some into the glass, his hands shaking as he felt the stare of the bartender onto him. It was easy for him to keep steady hands when he was working, but when doing things as ''alien'' as mixing drinks, it seems like the anxiety would make him shake as much as a leaf in the wind.
As he poured the rest of the ingredients, so the peach juice and the two slices, he kept giving little looks at the bartender, making sure he was doing everything correctly. He was about to ask if everything was ready, but the other bun grabbed the glass from him and seemed to pour something quickly into the glass, giving it a mix with a spoon, then throwing a can away as if this one detail wouldn't be noticed by the doctor.
''-Um, Hops? What was-
-Nothing!'' Hops cut him, giving shifty eyes to the glass then the doctor. She tasted the drink and gave the other a satisfied smile, nodding her head as she approved of the concoction he had just prepared.
''-Finally, we got somewhere! This one tastes good, Eliott!
-What do you mean, ''finally''?'' Asked the doctor.
In return, the Doctor was simply answered with a little chuckle, not realizing the hours spent mixing this single drink, nor how many ingredients lost in the process he'd have to pay back.
Hops has offered to teach Eliott her signature drinks.
