[PROMPT] PoD: CH 2
Ignition may have misunderstood his assignment.
At the moment he was within the high seeming confines of the heavenly embassys greenhouse. He had been searching through all the flowers to try and pinpoint which exact ones were tea leaves. He had brought Explosion with him, somehow hoping the imp would have better initiative and smell than he did. The small sceil lifted its head from where he was curled on the dolls shoulder and stuck his tiny tongue out to try and taste the air for some hints. Ignition found this to be a very good attempt! It yielded no results though, so he pats Explosion on the head softly with a finger and lets him rest.
With his imps expertise well and truly out the window, he decides to go digging some more, though not literally for fear he'll harm the flowers and plants growing here!
He ends up walking in circles and circles, finding plenty of ambrosia plants and naturally growing flowers from the meadow itself...but no sign of tea leaves. Wait...did he even know what tea leaves looked like?
"There you are."
Ignition jolts upright, almost leaping up in surprise at the sudden voice slicing through the peaceful quiet of the greenhouse. His heart bangs in his chest, for a moment he's certain it will pop out and start running around seperately from himself. His panic subsides as he turns and notices that its only Primrose. He supposed there could be worse scenarios in which he is caught somewhere he shouldn't be. In this case, though, he was sure he WAS meant to be here, where else would he find demondamn tealeaves? He smiles sheepishly and Primrose sighs, pinching the bridge of where his eyes meet.
"What are you doing?" He asks with an exasperated sigh
"....I mean, Where else am i supposed to get tea leaves?" Ignition shrugs and puts both hands up along with the motion, sheepish grin still plastered along his facial features. Primrose looks...well, unimpressed is a light way to describe the expression.
"Me. You are supposed to come to me. They've been harvested by now and i have Doves order ready for them." Primrose he holds his head up a little, huffing air from his nose and closing both eyes. He peaks one open to glance at Ignition who is rubbing the back of his neck with slight nerves and embarassment.
"R-right, Yeah." Ignition murmured, following the cherebun as he swiftly walks out of the greenhouse and towards his main shop area.
Ignition hasn't much visited the embassy outside of work with Primrose and gardening duties. He's just a little nervous that he'll somehow make the cherebuns, new and old, uncomfortable if he's here for too long. Ignition is not an envy bun, he does not know the deep rooted feeling of being unwanted nor unwelcome. He has had experience on burrowgatory though, much experience, which leads him to understand the general feeling of not being welcome somewhere. Its not intentional in the heavely embassy of course, but a feeling always lingers in the back of his mind that he definitely should not be here. Its like the meadow, only toned down by quite a substantial amount. The feeling of unease and uncannyness.
Ignition waits patiently by the counter as Primrose darts back to find where he had placed Doves order. He sees a few cherebuns coming and going, flitting by the outside and walking along the cloud flooring in the distance. In the back of his mind he also thinks they deserve a solid home, like the envy buns did, to be happy in and to flourish. He smiles slightly, He hopes that this place works for them. After all, It is technically their home, their origin.
"Here."
His thoughts are interrupted by that sharp voice again. He turns a little and picks up the small cloth package carefully in his hands. Primrose is clearly delighted with the amount of caution Igition is taking when merely holding the package and nods firmly.
"They are very precious, Please treat them with care on your way down." Primrose instructs him, and Ignition nods thoroughly. Before leaving he pauses at the door.
"Why do you do this?" He asks and Primrose frowns.
"What do you mean?"
"Make up the leaves for Dove, and everything. I know you don't care for burrowagtry and you don't care for succubuns either...and they choose to live down there rather than up here...and that must get under your fur so...why?" Ignition has no malicious intent in his voice nor his face as he asks the question. There is minimal hurt behind his eyes, but if you don't know what that looks like with him then you wouldn't even notice its presence.
"...Dove is a good person. They have helped us find a piece of history we were missing, the ripped out pages of the beginning of our story. I want to see things how they do, in a way. I can't so far, but i would like to. So if they need anything I am happy to assist. Their way of viewing this situation, and that place down there is..." Primrose pauses and sighs, shrugging in a smaller motion "...Its just different, and I would like to understand. I know what it is like to miss home as much as any other cherebun, If the tea can help them then i have no issue procuring it."
Ignition smiles, warm as the flame on his horn and nods briefly "You're a good person, Primrose" He murmured before leaving through the front door and heading for the elevator.
The ride in the elevator gets less and less nervy every time he uses it, but he finds the ride back down to home is much more relieving then going up.
Once he gets down the burrowgatry he gains the normal spring in his step and begins darting around, trying to get to Doves [and Jackals] as fast as possible. He handles the package with extreme care and grace, as if it were one of his imps he was holding in his hands. Explosion is still on his shoulder, depending on the colour Ignition is wearing he sometimes blends in entirely to the point where people miss that he's even there.
When he arrives he knocks gently and awaits as the scuffling behind the door gets louder, and then Dove is there opening the door.
"Oh! Hello Ignition, something i can help you with?" They ask, smiling in that soft way that makes their features round.
"Delivery!" He beams and holds out the carefully protected cloth. Doves face lights up and they look back at him with wide, excited eyes.
"You got my tea?!!" They ask and Ignition nods.
"Well, Explosion helped" He added and Dove chuckles, gently running their finger over the sceils head and back
"I'm sure he did, Thank you very much Mr festive" Dove smiles and Explosion leans into the touch more, content. "Come come, I have to brew this right away ooo i'm so excited!!"
"I'm not much of a tea person-" Ignition starts nervously as he's invited into the home once more.
"Thats okay! You can just smell it if you want, It reminds me so much of home...I'm sure there are things down here that do the same for you right?" Dove states and Ignition sits on one of the chairs that are pulled up to a table and chuckles.
"Smelling should be fine, and Yeah, There are" There are also some smaller things that remind him of his upbringing with Murmur.
"You should tell me all about it! I love having chats over tea!" Dove clasped their hands together and Ignition smiles once more, he's been doing that alot lately.
"I would love to."
