After Hours Work

It had darkened considerably outside and Limon had just turned the sign from OPEN to CLOSED. She was currently seated on top of her counter, leg crossed over the other as she went through her notes from the sales today as well as orders placed from her business partners when she heard the bell ding. Glancing up and ready to inform the newcomer of the closing hours when she recognized the beige greedy doll dressed in scientist attire.

"Oh hello Lazarus" she smiled as she gestured to a table near the counter

"Here for nightly sweets and some quiet studying?" she inquired and he nodded. Hopping off the counter she went to check on her cartons of flavours

 

"Ah just a sundae please. I heard you got in new flavours...?" 

"That's correct. I experimented with mixing coffee with some of our fruits. Found that coffee goes fantastic with strawberries and lemons. Would you like to try?" she went to get the scoops into a small bowl and drizzled in pecan syrup. They were then topped with thinly sliced pecans and set in front of the scientist along with a spoon and some napkins. He was left to his sundae and his notebook as Limon went to work on finishing up counting the register and finalizing the end of the day inventory. 

She could hear Lazarus muttering quietly to himself about various things and chuckled as she sat back on the counter again to look over her notebook regarding sales and what she needed to prepare for the orders she had received.

 

The cheesecake bites for Ione was easy, she just needed to make the capuccino flavoured which was simple enough. 

The crispy crumble topping for Jade were slightly more difficult as Limon found them time consuming.

Hops had requested two cartons of boozy sherbet for the bar's special drinks and left the flavours up to her. She had to experiment quite a bit on that order but at least she had plenty of time to get it done.

There were two ice cream cakes requested which she would easily delegate to her employees.

 

"Hey Lazarus? If you had to decide on two boozy fruity drinks to turn into sherbets, what would they be?"

"Cosmopolitan would be a not so obvious choice. It contains vodka, orange liqueur, cranberry juice and lime juice but you could easily put a spin on it such as using lime vodka, peach liqueur, pomegranate juice and squeezed lime" the scientist rambled off, obviously having vested interest in food. Limon jolted his suggestion down and grinned 

"That one will translate beautifully! I so appreciate you!" she looked rather pleased

 

"This might be strange suggestion but how about lavender lemonade? Gin, lemonade and lavender syrup" Limon's eyebrows rose at that, tilted her head then sighed

"Lavender is not in season"

"Hurricane then? Orange juice, lime juice, dark rum, light rum, grenadine and passion fruit syrup" Limon hummed

"Might be little complicated but I think I can manage that! Thank you so much" she smiled as she jolted down the suggestions

 

"Once I get those perfected you will be the first to taste test it!" she promised and Lazarus's eyes sparkled in anticipation

"I look forward to that" 

 

Limon turned to start cleaning up the counters and most of tables. When Lazarus handed her his bowl, she cleaned it up as well

"That was delicious sundae. Thank you. I will be back another night" Lazarus promised as he departed the cafe. Limon soon closed up and locked before heading home to her imp. She had decided to leave the little thing home after it had caused chaos with another imp the previous day.
