When Dove first described Burrowgatory, Sati was enthralled by the idea of it. They've always been fascinated by how buns work, how their cultures and social groups interact. This hobby was gently encouraged by Melangel, but only to a degree— researching the virtuous aspects of cherubun culture was acceptable, but researching the sins everyone feared so much was not. Sati reluctantly went along with what made Melangel happy— they didn't want to upset their parental figure— and felt guilt and shame for their innate desire to understand all of bun culture, not just the 'good' parts of it.

It took a long time for Satyavati to follow Dove and the other cherubuns through the heavenly door, longer than they'd be willing to admit. It took Melangel finding them researching sin in secret for things to reach a breaking point; the ensuing argument with Melangel was the last straw. They chose to leave the Heavenly Meadow the next day. Sati was quite at a loss upon their arrival in Burrowgatory— the idea of researching a whole new culture was enticing, but living within that culture was a different matter entirely. It was overwhelming, and honestly scary. They were close friends with Dove and Beanny before they left the Meadow, and the two other cherubuns were instrumental to helping Sati adjust. They helped find an apartment Sati could make all their own; Dove even gave them a chimelody, Vajra, who quickly became their constant companion.

After a long and difficult adjustment period, Satyavati truly began flourishing in Burrowgatory. Today, Sati is an enthusiastic, talkative, and cheerful cherubun who loves nothing more than learning all they can about their new home. They ramble about their research to anyone who will listen, and occasionally to people who don't— they have an unfortunate tendency to miss social cues.

Sati found a small bookshop/library to work in as an assistant, under the succubun Siobhan. Their enthusiasm frequently ruffles Siobhan's composure, but they love having access to so much knowledge on a daily basis. They can also ask a primary source (Siobhan) about succubun culture as often as they want, which might be the best part of their new job!
