Marla doesn't know much of what her life as a young bung was like - like many succubuns, it feels like ancient history to her.  She assumes she was raised by Murmur like most buns are, although it is not particularly important to her.

It is her life afterwards that concerns her, after all.

She worked as a cam girl during her first year in Burrowgatory, and it suited her fine - although her first pregnancy rendering her unable to work was not particularly fun, and she struggled to make ends meet that month.  After delivery, she dropped the new bun off at the Bunnery... but it was strangely hard for her to let this little thing she had carried just... go.  Marla wound up sobbing in the office of the then-head nun, and admitting that though she found her job fun, she hadn't really felt purpose in this way before.  There was a little bun in the world because of her, and sure she knew she had no clue how to truly care for it or raise it - but it hurt to just let them go.  She'd never felt like she - or anything she did - mattered.

The Head Nun allowed her to make regular visits to the Bunnery during that month, and slowly, the ache eased, becoming replaced by new desire.  Marla wanted to help care for Burrowgatory's future, as the nuns did.  She couldn't imagine just... going back to the life she had been living.  She liked the work just fine, but it just- it didn't have any meaning to it.  It was just fun.

She took a little longer to truly commit and take her vows, but several months after her first child had departed with Murmur, Marla became a Nun of Sulfur.

She found she loved it even beyond the work of caring for baby buns.  The Church was important to numerous aspects of life she had never considered, especially with its charity to newly returned buns, helping them to adapt to Burrowgatory.  That was where Marla found her most meaningful work, ultimately.  She's at her best helping newly returned buns find jobs and somewhere they fit in Burrowgatory.

When not working or having sex, Marla is - surprisingly - an avid enjoyer of board games.  She particularly loves anything with hidden identities and motives to achieve.

Recent events have definitely disturbed her - cherubuns were bad enough, but after the announcement of vampires' existence and deducing what must have happened to Oleander, Marla has a strong aversion to them.  It's even pushed her to the point of acquainting herself with cherubuns as a protective measure, since their blood would return her to normal, and she has no desire to be a vampire.
