MYO-6197: Yaroch
Yaroch
He/Him
Security Guard at a Factory and Forge (Bastion Bladeworks: specializes in weaponry.)
Hobbyist bladesmith. Passionate LARP Customer at Bungeon Dungeon. Hobbyist Gamer.
Just a good dude who likes to get lost in his hobbies once in a while. He is a knight-core fan who very well knows and draws the line between fantasy and reality. So whenever he's not passionately playing up his roll as a 'chilvalrous defender of the weak' (insert big declarations and flare), he's actually rather chill, sweet, practical, and casual. People who really know him joke that he'd almost fit in a slice-of-life show.
He's a planner, the kind who enjoys making lists when he goes to grocery stores. Not super strict about his diet, but he is conscientious about his personal fitness and neutrition, so he's always looking at the labels. Regularly hits the gym, partially because his job has minimum fitness standards. But he also just likes meeting personal objectives and looking strong. He's happy whenever he finds a new protein drink or snack bar he likes.
He also likes playing rpgs, occasionally online with friends, though he's not addicted by any means. If he wants to spend hours in front of a screen, he usually plans around it. Whatever the hobby, he gets all his other stuff taken care of so that he can indulge with no regrets.
Yaroch isn't really all that uptight. But because of his generally respectful and goody-two-shoe qualities qualities, he tends to get stuck as the designated driver and makes sure drunk buns get home safely. And... Okay, fine. He IS that guy that genuinely gets bothered by folks being mean to buns who don't deserve it. And he gets in trouble by speaking up, whether it's any of his business or not.
His sense of humor? Er... he has one, he swears! He's just not the type to laugh much at others' expense. Give him some clever wordplay or a well thought out joke though, and the man will be gripping his sides in laughter. He's not especially academic leaning, but he's not dumb either. Actually rather likes the nerdy folks. And regardless of people's leanings, he seems to have an uncommon amount of patience for their batherings. All he asks is that they don't try to sell him something or loop him into some pyramid scheme. Yaroch hates being accosted by random vendors. No he won't be worn down. No he won't buy miscellaneous stuff. He budgets and only gets what he came for. This fact has made him rather unpopular with the local sugar babies, hah. If he does treat people to things spontaneously, he's either trying to help someone he genuinely thinks needs it... orrrrr he has a thing for them.
Yaroch is a bit slow to realize when he has a crush. Demi-sexual/romantic, and he doesn't talk about it. But he hasn't slept with any-bun. He doesn't figure it's a big deal or spend all that much time thinking about it. If he meets anyone he's interested in, he'll figure it out. Classically easy to fluster in some cases, due to his lack of experience. It's not immediately apparent, but his friends find it hilarious that he seems to be the type that needs to be some level of romanced before he opens up.
Side Facts:
- Yaroch lives in an apartment he pays for in Mothlight Bounds. He is unofficial roommates and unlikely friends with a problematic oddball named Fate. They met when he caught Fate harassing some unlucky bun for pocket change after an unwelcome assist against some street thugs. Hoping to help Fate integrate into society a bit better and curb the annoying habits, Yaroch offered Fate a somewhere to stay until he presumably 'gets back on his feet.' But given how battle obsessed and bizarre the guy is, with no explanation for a lot of his behavior, Yaroch worries it'll be a long time before Fate finds his place.
- Yaroch doesn't always agree with or like everything that Fate is about, especially when Fate challenges him to fights at crazy hours night and day. But they do weirdly get along in a way. And besides. The fights are a good work out. Fate recognized that Yaroch was strong but didn't have much practical experience with a sword. So between trying to kick Yaroch's ass for the fun of it, Fate has been teaching him a few techniques. And being the knight LARP'ing fanboy Yaroch is? He eats it up!
- Yaroch hasn't managed to beat Fate in a fight with no restrictions yet, but to his credit, he does keep Fate on his toes. He's progressing so well that Fate looks forward to the day they can have a fight to the death! Which Yaroch shakes his head over, "Yeahhhh... so that's intense. Why're you like this?" He's unsure if Fate is serious or not. But just in case, Yaroch prepares himself.
