Although she is the sweet, obedient, forgiving, and meek type on the surface, Liliel is far from helpless. She has quite the emotional fortitude, is mistrustful, and has developed keen survival instincts to help her avoid violent situations if possible. It’s not that she can’t or won’t speak up, especially in casual situations. But she rarely feels safe or empowered to openly defy her employers, including those she is temporarily contracted out to.

 

Whenever she is not required to be smiling and accommodating, she can be somewhat cold and passive-aggressive. (And apparently, some of her odd employers are into that.) In general, Liliel is a calm person. Even if she rarely gets to indulge herself, she loves lounging around in random places, just listening to music while reading light novels, crocheting, drinking boba tea, or playing relaxing handheld games. Those who know her well can tell the difference between when she is merely acting and when she is smiling genuinely. Her comfortable laugh is as light and bright as a bell.

 

No matter whether she has many people to talk to about it, she hasn't given up on her hopes of making video games that help people relax. And, as she is determined to save those who depend on her, she is willing to be a bit ruthless on others' behalf. She is incredibly discreet when she does take action, and very capable of manipulation. A few of her former clients turn up in a bad way sometime after she has worked for them. But so far, either no one has been able to trace these coincidences back to weak little miss Liliel or those who are aware have opted to hire her specifically to make use of her lesser-known skillset.

 

Of course, she can be sincerely kind and even nurturing when it suits her. She simply also has all the patience in the world when it comes to taking revenge against those who push her too far.

Liliel gets contracted out for random services by an abusive loan shark company called Fortune Favors (FFav), whose primary business is in loaning fledgling entrepreneurs and small businesses money.

 

Lilel got caught up with them after she and a business partner borrowed a lot of money from FFav to fund an indie video game project. When they were unable to keep up with the interest and threats of violence began, her partner went behind her back to strike another deal in which they sold Sur.REALix, and essentially Liliel herself, to FFav. Even then, her ex-partner and their employees are not entirely safe.

 

To allow those she cares about to live in relative peace, Liliel works to appease FFav. She seems too frightened to try to run from the sharks, and she rarely confides in others about how difficult her situation is, as she doesn’t want anyone else to get dragged into a mess with FFav on her behalf. But on another complicated level, she hangs in there to the chance to someday take her revenge against every last one of her tormentors.

 

Her treacherous ex-partner likes to keep tabs on her while they attempt to climb the FFav corporate ladder since allegedly their success relies on Liliel remaining underfoot. The ex promises to fix everything once they make it to the top. However, they are increasingly aggressive and unpleasant toward her.

 

Most recently, the crew at Bungeon Dungeon has been regularly requesting Liliel’s services. While they have picked up on the fact that something is off about her situation, no one has figured out how to help her yet. The best they can do for now is try to monopolize her time to spare her from being forced to work for more unsavory buns.

 

Not that Liliel especially enjoys working for FFav at all. But given her limited choice on the matter, Bungeon Dungeon is one of her favorite places. The staff is very kind to her, she isn’t required to do anything too humiliating, and she even gets breaks to relax in any way she wishes. Overall, it provides some amount of escapism and temporary relief from the worst parts of her reality.

At Bungeon Dungeon, when she’s not filling in for someone as a character in an exhibit or prize stall, her favorite tasks involve ride and game maintenance. She claims that she would rather play visual novels or simulation games. But since she ‘tests’ the arcade games so much, she has the highest score on several platformers and shooters. She is also illegally good at crane games...

 

Apart from being tech-savvy, this multi-talented lady’s skill sets include bookkeeping, scheduling, cleaning, cooking, playing piano, singing,  moving very quietly, reading lips, and poison detection (she has a sensitive palate). She is not especially skillful at full-on sewing or dancing. She's not great at athletic activities in general. Plus she is mysteriously body-shy. The type to get flustered at the thought of someone seeing her under clothes or belly button. If she has a choice, she’d prefer to only show certain parts of herself to people she trusts.
