Remi

( REH - mee )

HE/HIM . TOYHOUSE

Freelance Actor and Musician.
In films. And on live stage. His celebrity nickname is “Sea Bard.”
His specialty is the jazz accordion. But he can also sing and play the harmonica.

Personality:
Party Guy. Naturally friendly. Openly Sweet. And Extremely Self-admiring. Confident in his looks 24/7. Dashing. Debonaire. Musical (will spontaneously break into song). Adaptive. Persuasive. A bit of a chameleon. Likes to fit in. Hates feeling left out, which is what gets him into the most trouble. Sometimes gives unsolicited love advice.

Remi really enjoys the company of others and is, for the most part, easy to get along with. That is- assuming you can tolerate his occasional self-praise and urges to make a song out of anything. (“I know. I’m pretty. And you☆ are ☆ welcome.” / “It must be a crime to be so beautiful.” /” Who says you need pride horns to love yourself, am I right?” )

While indeed his presence from a distance may seem excessive, he’s the type that hates being alone. So much so that, for better or for worse, he tends to instinctively (anxiously) adapt himself in order to be more appealing to whatever company he finds himself around regularly. This isn’t to say he changes everything about himself, but it means he may not really enjoy some activities or interests as much as he pretends to. Even so, he convinces himself that he does if it means he gets to stay connected.

Some may find these fake or disingenuous sides of him uncomfortable. In the very least, if left to his own devices, Remi has no interest in taking advantage of anyone. At his worst, he’s a foolish man who makes all kinds of mistakes in an attempt to be accepted. At his best, he is an empathetic and warm-hearted host who goes out of his way to try to make others feel welcome. The type willing to help people without expecting anything in return, and to suffer wounds to his heart (and ego) whenever he’s blatantly ignored.

It’s very fortunate that Remi has generally had good close friends in his life that helped him discover a version of himself that he really likes. When they were separated for a while, he struggled quite a bit by falling in with groups from varying parts of society. (He stumbled around with whoever would take him really.) And even now that he has returned a bit to his old self, he can’t seem to let go of some of those unhealthy contacts.

A party planner. A drink toaster. A sporadically broke star.

He does like money, but it seems he’s not the best at holding onto it. If he’s not getting willfully swindled or manipulated out of his money, he’s likely spending it on other people in an attempt to keep them happy. Perhaps shockingly, this greed bun has a hard time saying no when people ask him for money. That doesn’t mean he desires it any less or that his eyes won’t sparkle over a sizable bribe. It’s common to watch him go through phases of wild success followed by weeks of working himself half to death to recover from the brink of bankruptcy. He says his dream is to eventually make so much money as a famous actor that he can throw big parties where everyone in the world is invited. Really though? He cares about opening his heart to other kindred spirits so that no one ever has to feel alone.

He is a dedicated self-proclaimed “responsible brother” to his found-family, Sajjita. And while Remi gets talked into greedy shenanigans way too easily, he takes pride in the fact that he’s willing to do whatever shameless thing it takes to get them all out of trouble in the end. Remi doesn’t lose his temper easily, but when he does? It’s usually because someone managed to genuinely upset his brother. Or because Sajjita went and did something stupid without relying on him enough… Orrrrrr because he (Remi) missed out on an opportunity to get a buttload of money.

- Remi has nightmares of waking up being completely broke one day.

Bun Size: Medium sized bun!
Doll Height: 6’2”

Vice Manifestation:
Remi’s horns came in as greed as, during his puberty, he definitely snuck off with Sajjita a lot to search for treasure, and that was the most important thing to him back then. Remi had a little treasure stash that he thought he would have tripled in size by now. But he ended up spending it all to buy himself a new jazz accordion after his old one was busted in a fight against some pirate’y rivals. Plus, he bought himself some new clothes and supplies to help get him started when he reintegrated into succubun society. Every now and then, he still second guesses his decision to spend it back then.

History:
- He was initially adopted from the Church of Sulfur by a musical demon, who got bored and left Remi behind on a ship with some demon sailors. Remi's first accordion was all he had to remember his original parental figure by, and he worked hard to learn to play it in hopes the music demon might come back. They never did. And it fell to the sailors to raise Remi in a collective loving sort of family as best as they could, given the circumstances. Considering Remi didn’t grow up with envy horns, maybe they didn’t do so badly. Though Remi still seems to struggle with the idea that he’ll be left alone if he’s not likable enough.

Romance and Sex:

- Remi likes to passionately profess his love for people! But he has notoriously bad luck when it comes to romantic relationships. He has been in them on and off, both the open and closed kind. And somehow he frequently either finds himself dumped or breaks things off himself when it doesn’t feel any different than a casual friends-with-benefits. And yeah. He does the FWB thing in between the chaos. Remi swears he is looking for genuine connections of the heart. He does, however, get incredibly blinded by love vision; struggles to see flaws or that he is being taken advantage of when he likes people that way. It doesn’t help that he somehow still ends up a sad sappy mess after his official break ups. Every. Single. Time. So far, his friends don’t take his love adventures too seriously. Because despite everything, he usually bounces back rather quickly. (Most of his tearful lamenting is just because he wants someone to give him attention and drink with him.) It’s only the rare times when he doesn’t recover by the end of the week that they start to worry.

- Remi is fine with both masculine and feminine presenting partners, though as a preference, he isn’t a fan of doll joints or plushie aesthetics. In general, he has a weakness for short but mentally or emotionally tough people. He thinks some tattoos and tentacles are also kind of sexy. But most of all? He simps for anyone in elegant (and especially high quality) clothes that asks him to do them a favor. It’s not that he doesn’t notice regular people too. But boy does this greed bun find signs of wealth attractive. 10/10 will be impressed if you show off some crazy expensive new swag. And, unfortunately, he will be turned on if you randomly tip him in large amounts of money.

- On that note, his secret longest running friendship-with-benefits is with Candace. Thanks to an unexpected “stress relief” encounter the first time they ran into each other (after escaping from a dangerous situation), they made an agreement! In which they pretend not to know or like each other very much around other people. However, if either of them are having a hard time and need physical comfort? They might secretly help each other out that way again. Candace has forbidden Remi from seriously attempting to court her unless he’s willing to put their relationship first. And Remi can’t promise he won’t put his own career and other people before her. So, for now? Remi is content with their routine of her being huffy and unimpressed with anything he does around her in public.
