BUN-777: Vanna
When Dove made their brave stand against Melangel and turned their back on the Heavenly Meadow for good, the round door that was left after their departure stood as both enticement and a warning to the cherubuns still within the meadow. To know that on the other side was a long life to be lived, new buns to meet, and a newfound freedom to be cherished was dangerously alluring—but to enter the door was to never come back. No longer would a cherubun be able to see those they had formed bonds with, nor would they have Melangel to care for them. The sun, the moon, and the stars would be but strangers to them from there on out…but would it be worth it, if it meant finding purpose in their longer lifespan?
After many days spent pondering this very question, one little cherubun had made up their mind. They afforded the Heavenly Meadow one last bittersweet look before turning their back on it for the first—and the last—time in their life. Vanna was that cherubun’s name, and they sought meaning to what was once a short life spent in a repetitive fashion. They yearned to see and do more with themselves and accomplish something that they could look back on and be proud of.
Vanna is a cherubun who has always been highly inquisitive, and though they aren't exactly the smartest bun around, their warmhearted nature has already endeared them to many of Burrowgatory’s residents. This works in his favor, as he tends to act first and think later when his feelings are involved. Due to his upbringing, he wears his heart on his sleeve, and readily opens his heart to those that show interest in wanting to engage with him. Whether this is a trait that’ll stay with him as becomes more accustomed to Burrowgatory remains to be seen…
While Vanna would like to say that they’re acclimating well to society, like other cherubuns that leave the meadow they still find themselves grappling with feelings of guilt and loss for what they’ve left behind. When feeling down or stressed, they tend to hide away and seek out familiar comforts, growing uncharacteristically reclusive until they feel better. Vanna hopes that with time, he’ll grow out of this and truly be at ease while living his new life in Burrowgatory—but he knows that this ease will not come with him idly sitting by, and intends on bringing his hopes to fruition with his own hands.
