Very kooky. Quite strange. Morally flexible at best - and also an extremely committed pathological liar. "Rin" is not in fact short for anything and you cannot trust that anything that comes out of this man's mouth at any point in time is the truth, but you'll have a hell of a time with him nonetheless. Even when you know Rin lies for (often) no real reason, you'll find that you struggle to call bullshit anyhow. Something about his strange charisma, I suppose, and he doesn't even always lie exclusively for his own benefit; the pathological lies in the sense that nine out of ten times, he won't tell the truth even if it would benefit him significanly more than lying ever could. Surely this cannot possibly be a lie if it has brought him nothing good whatsoever?? Surprise, it was a lie! :'D

Often finding himself described as "mad" or "volatile" or "untrustworthy smh what did I do to deserve that 🙄", Rin lives for chaos and finds immense pride in being a bringer of it, regarding it as the one thing he truly excels at even with "a brain as big as his". Definitely has some anti-hero-sometimes-straight-up-villain vibes. Like, he won't attempt world domination, but he will stand in the way of your goals and go as far as to thwart them if it's funnier to him. Sometimes your bestie, sometimes actually helps you out, sometimes brings your nightmares to life, sometimes literally, depending on what new invention he has pulled out of his ass in recent times. He has kidnapped Aysel once (Aysel when he gets kidnapped on two different occasions by two different people: :0) for "funsies" and threatened to perform unethical experiments with morally dubious inventions on him.  Smh.

Still, as mentioned, there is something charming about him, and his inventions may just be the one thing about him that are not complete bullshit unless he intentionally makes them so; people still seek him out for various reasons, because he can in fact be immensely helpful. You just gotta put a wager on whether Rin will change your life for the better or just make it various levels of more difficult than it needed to be, and then toss a coin on whether or not you think it's worth it.

Never calls anyone by their actual name, but in a way that still makes it annoyingly similar to their actual name. E.g. calls Will "Billfred", Aysel "Seltzer", Andraste "Annalise", and Love "Aloysius".
