While all the other buns scramble to take the most beautiful shells, Mitch is more interested in the dull, seemingly boring ones. Why? Because their value can only be seen when opened up. A nice prize and a tasty bonus!
I'd like to think that most buns are a little too stupid to realize that clams make pearls, so the smarter ones get to profit off of it with little competition. XD
