I admit I drew from personal experience on this one. As a child, I didn't know how to express when I was sick, and I often didn't really exhibit any outward signs other than a sniffle. I once ended up at school with a fever of 103, and it was only caught because my teacher given me a high-five and noticed I felt 'off'.
