Carat Guide - Art Rewards

As an art-based roleplaying game, one of the best ways to earn rewards on Succubuns is by submitting visual art pieces.

When you submit art, you'll earn carats according to what you've drawn. Adding buns, dolls, and backgrounds to your piece will increase your carat earnings, along with special bonuses for including your bun's pets, owning certain items, or including other people's characters.

In order to count for the rewards listed below, all elements must follow the requirements outlined on the Minimum Art Requirements page, including being lined and colored.

Basic rewards

Every art piece submitted to Succubuns that follows the Minimum Art Requirements will earn carats according to the table above.

For examples of what counts as a full-body, half-body, or chibi character, view the Character Requirements page.

For examples of what counts as a simple or complex background, view the Background Requirements page, as well as the Asset Restrictions page for the limitations on the use of premade assets.

Comics count each uniquely drawn character and background separately for rewards. A character who is drawn from scratch in each of 4 panels earns the same rewards as drawing 4 characters, while a background that is repeated across panels can only be counted once.

Animation does not award any bonus carats. To submit an animation for carats, you may count each uniquely drawn keyframe as an individual character, and calculate the rewards as you would for a static image. Small animations such as blinking/bouncing do not earn any extra rewards.

Bonus rewards

Gift Art Bonus: +2 carats for drawing a character you don't own, including NPCs.
- This bonus is additive. If you create a comic that contains Shibani in 3 panels, you add this reward 3 times!

Pet Bonus: +2 carats for including your succubun's pet.
- This bonus is additive. If you depict your bun with 3 of their imps, you add this reward 3 times!
- This bonus is only applicable when drawing your own succubun with a pet in their Menagerie. You cannot receive this bonus when drawing someone else's succubun with a pet. You cannot receive this bonus when drawing your succubun with a pet they do not own.

NPC Trinket Bonus: +5 carats for including an NPC whose trinket your succubun owns.
- If your succubun has completed an NPC prompt and possesses an NPC trinket in their inventory, you receive this bonus when depicting them in a piece alongside that NPC.
- This bonus only applies if you own the succubun who possesses the NPC trinket.
- The trinket itself does not need to be depicted in the piece.

Shading Bonus: +2 carats for shading your piece.
- This is a piece-wide bonus, and does not apply per character.

Commissioned Works: earn 1/3 carat payout, rounded up.
- Commissioned artwork can only be submitted for carats by the commissioner, not by the artist.
- Prompts may be commissioned unless otherwise specified. Non-carat prompt rewards will not be divided.

Collaborations: earn 1/2 carat payout, rounded up.
- Both collaborators may separately submit the collaborative piece to earn their half of the rewards.
- Prompts may not be submitted as collaborations unless otherwise specified. See the "Special Case: Collaborations" section of the Prompt Submission Guide for more information.

A note: We know everyone wants carats, and that's the main reason people submit art/writing to the website-- it's the intent of the game and is totally fine! However to keep the game fair for everyone, and to prevent staff from having to review dozens of extremely similar submissions, we reserve the right to reject anything that seems to have been made as quickly as possible to squeeze out the maximum number of carats.

We don't expect people to be submitting fully rendered 40+ hour pieces for prompts, but please make sure there is real effort and time put into anything you submit. Things that appear to be made for the purpose of low-effort grinding will be reviewed on a case by case basis and will be rejected.
