All Dolled Up

“There you are, little one! All nice and prettied up for the show~” Emi hummed happily while combing a cute and excited stroodle and getting it dressed up for what she thinks might be an exhibition, but she doesn’t actually know. Emi simply offered to help Quince out with some stuff with the imps since Bellatrix told her all about how much fun it was training imps and competing with them in tricks. Emi wasn’t the biggest fan of competitions since she wasn’t a very ambitious bun, but she was always happy to help out her friends and learn something new while she’s at it.

“Hey now, Mademoiselle has never looked more prim and proper!” Quince grinned and put a firm hand on Emi’s shoulder. “Nice job, Em! Couldn’t have done it better myself!” The much larger bun laughed while giving Emi a pat on the head. “Now let’s get ‘er dressed up too. Afterwards we can give lil Peach a bath too. Little guy seems tuckered out from running around earlier.”

“Heehee, ok!” Emi nodded, and hopped along to pick out an outfit and some accessories for Mademoiselle. Emi has never really had an imp to take care of before. Quince and Hutch walked her through the basics before, but the two didn’t seem to be getting along much when they talked last time, even if Quince seemed like she was having a lot of fun. Quince suggested that if Emi ever wanted to get an imp that maybe she should get something that matched her energy. She’ll have to think about that some other time.

“There we go~” Emi smiled, tying a pretty little bow into Mademoiselle’s head, right around the cherry stem. She wasn’t sure how that always managed to stay in place, but it was cute! So she didn’t really think about it. “You’re looking as pretty as a picture, little Mademoiselle!” She beamed.

The stroodle lifted its head with pride, and Emi happily dressed it in the rest of their pretty matching outfit. It was just a little skirt and some pink boots and maybe one more little ribbon on the tail for good measure, but Emi would definitely say that she looked gorgeous!

“Eeeee, you’re so cuuuute!” Emi said happily. “We’ve got to get a picture for Bella! She’d love it!!”

“All done?” Quince walked over to see what she was so happy about. “Woah there! That’s my pretty gal.” She picked the stroodle up with a grin. “Love what you picked ou here Emit, I’ll bet no one else would be anywhere near as stunning out there, ha!”

“I’m glad you think so!” Emi felt very proud to be complimented. “Hm…do you think it’d be good for me to have my own imp someday?” Helping Quince out with her imps has really made her consider maybe getting one for herself some day. They wouldn’t be anywhere near as pretty as Quince’s fancy imps, but she’s sure that she’d love whatever they were!

“Of course! If you ever do, you should swing by again! Imps love a good treat y’know?”

“Pffft, well of course you’d say that Quince.”

“Tell you what, if you can get me some wagashi, I can even get you a pretty imp like Mademoiselle! Whaddya say?”

“Maybe some other time then Quince. Thanks for the help! Even if I know you just want more wagashi again.”

“Hey!”

The two laughed at that. Emi made a mental note to maybe get some wagashi as a gift for Quince one of these days anyway since she was such a nice person. For now though she better get back to work, she has a phloof to bathe.
