Fair Day

“WAHAHAHAHA! Emi Emi Emiiiiii!! You GOTTA try this one next, come on come on come on!!” Bellatrix tugged at Emi’s arm towards the scary looking roller coaster set up just outside the imp petting tent. It was so tall that Emi was feeling sick to her stomach just looking at it.

“Eh?? Oh no no, Bella I can’t do that!! I can’t! It’s too tall, look at how high that is!! I’ll die!! I’ll really die!” Emi whined. She tried pulling back from her friend but the other bun still held on and the two kept walking.

“Emi, you’ve been saying that for the last seven rides and you came out of them just fine! You even said the last one was really fun! Even after aaaaall that whining about how you’d die on that one too. What’s one more? Come ooooon!” Bellatrix hopped a few times to emphasize how important this was.

“Mmmm…” Emi puffed up her face while she thought about what her friend said. It’s true that she always came out of roller coasters actually enjoying the ride, but the suspense of waiting in line, hearing other buns screaming, and nervously looking up at the looming coaster in front of her while they slowly inch towards the start just make her so jittery! She shook her head quickly. “B-But this one is like, super super high!”

Bellatrix put a hand on her hip. “Emi, they’re roller coasters, they’re all high. That’s what makes going down them fun!”

“Well, I mean-”

“Besides, the ferris wheel was higher. Just one more ride, Emi? Pretty pleeease?” She clapped her tiny hooves together and looked at Emi with big eyes.

Emi tried to hold a straight face but she eventually laughed anyway. “Oh come on, that’s not fair, Bella! You know I can’t say no to that face.” She quickly changed to a firmer tone. “But this is definitely the last one! No more coasters after, promise!”

“Yippee!!!” Bellatrix fully jumped up in the air. She happily shakes Emi’s hoof. “Promise! In fact, we should go grab another bite afterwards. I’m getting the munchies again, ehehe~”

“It’s just gonna be more snacks, isn’t it?” Emi said, crossing her arms.

“Oh you know me so well, Emi~”

“You can’t just eat cotton candy all day, you’ll get sick!”

“Hasn’t gotten to me yet! C’mon! Let’s move!”

The two buns dashed off towards the roller coaster’s queue, with Emi barely keeping up with Bella’s energy but they make the most of the rest of their time at the fair. Yes, Emi was still a nervous wreck and whining to Bella the entire time they were on line about how scary the coaster looked, but by the time they were off the ride the two were pumped up with excitement and adrenaline. That was still their last ride of the day though, they made a promise after all! 

As an end to their fun day at the fair, and since Bellatrix just couldn’t help themselves, the two had to end their trip with one last cotton candy treat.

“We definitely have to do this again~” The colorful bun hummed.

“Only if you buy me an ube roll next time.” Emi huffed in response.

“Hell! I could do that today!”
“You’ve already had enough snacks, Bella!”

They laughed and chatted all the way home.

It was a nice day.
