[Gift] Sleepy Pirate Time
Morgan Drake, a fearsome pirate of the seven seas! And owner of The Crow's Nest - a family-friendly pirate-themed restaurant in Burrowgatory.
Yes, this scary and renowned ‘pirate’ told tales of adventures while serving many a bun in his restaurant. He worked hard to keep up not only his reputation but also his business. For where was a pirate without mountains of gold? Or, in this case…carats.
But alas, even pirates get tired and Drake was exhausted!
“Demons below, that was tough,” Drake said as he slid into his chair, removing his chef’s jacket and hanging it on the wall. It had been a very busy weekend, business was booming and he was delighted about the success of his restaurant. But he was so tired.
“I need a break, just one day to myself, then I can get back into it,” he thought to himself and stood, stretching up and cracking his back before retrieving his long ‘captains’ jacket from the hook on the door and pulling it on.
He took out his phone, because pirates have phones, and called a friend.
“Oi Django, I need a favour, you know, anywhere that’s good for relaxing I need a good nap,” he asked the cowboy-esque succubun as he locked his office and walked around the restaurant, ensuring his staff had cleaned and switched everything off.
“Hmmm,” Django said on the other side of the phone. “You know Morgan, I think there was this here place on the other side of town, I remember Elio telling me it’s very relaxing…but that could have been his sarcastic tone you know how he is, I’ll text you the address might be worth checking out.”
Morgan Drake, feared pirate, nodded and then remembered that he was on the phone and spoke up.
“That would be great, thank you friend,” he replied and Django replied some cowboy nonsense before saying goodbye and hanging up. As Morgan was locking up he got a text from Django with the directions to a potential restful night’s sleep.
The next day, Morgan told his ‘crew’ as he liked to call his staff, that he’d be in later but trusted them to have everything under control. If he was honest he was nervous leaving it in their hands but he had to try. If he could trust them to run the restaurant for a bit then he’d be able to have more days off!
Walking to the location he’d been sent, Morgan noticed that this was just a house. When he knocked a smiling, white-furred succubun answered.
“Hello, I’m Shibani, what can I do you for?” Shibani said with a bright smile.
“Well hello there, I’m not sure if I’m in the right spot, a friend of mine said this was the place for a good rest,” Morgan replied and Shibani smiled brighter before looping his arm around Drake’s and dragging him inside.
“Finally, I’ve been waiting for somebody all morning, come on in,” Shibani said but wasn’t really giving the other a choice as the pirate lord was brought into a room covered in dozens of pillows both large and small - some were even themed after popular characters.
“Oh,” he said and didn’t even react as Shibani took his coat and hat.
“Come on, it’s great for a snooze,” Shibani encouraged and ran to the pillow pile, jumping onto it with joy and landing in the soft centre. Morgan wasn’t sure about jumping but he did venture over, and with so coaxing from the other lay down.
It was so soft.
So relaxing.
So peaceful.
Before Morgan knew it he had drifted off into a wonderful and restful sleep.
He dreamt of the ocean, fierce battles on the seas, monsters of the deep and ADVENTURE! It was truly wonderful and when he awoke he felt so refreshed and revitalized.
“What a nap,” Morgan said looking around. Oh…it was much darker in the room now.
“Ummm…” he said. “Shibani?”
“Ah you’re awake, you almost slept all day, and I thought I was a pro napper!” Shibani replied from the darkness.
“All day, oh no the restaurant I told them I’d be there,” Morgan shouted in shock and bounded to his feet before running to grab his jacket. Bowing his head to Shibani and thanking him before legging it out the door into the night air.
“Bollocks,” he murmured as he took off down the street.
When he got to the restaurant, it was locked up. The alarm was on, everything looked clean and nothing was damaged.
“I should really learn to be more trusting,” he said with a laugh. He saw a note on the window and peeled it off to read it.
Hope you got a good rest, you deserve it! - The Crew
Morgan smiled.
Yea, he had had a great rest.
