A Sea Salt Treat
Waizatsu smiled as he walked home with a sea salt mochi. He'd already given one to Siren, his Chirop, and realized he must really like them with how quickly he had eaten it. He was very happy he'd managed to snag the last one from the shop, and couldn't wait to give it to Siren when he returned home. When he arrived home, the mochi hidden in seperate bag than the normal seasame treats he buys for the rest of his imps, he is immediately greeted by Siren, who chirps at him and begins to flutter around him, as if knowing there was something for him.
Waizatsu tried to maintain a straight face, giving the other imps each a seasame treat. He then held Siren lovingly, petting the imp as he laughs softly. "Hello, Siren. Yes, yes, I know, you aren't a fan of the seasame treats, are you...? No, you like the treat I gave you last time... This is the last one for a little while of them though, so you'll have to enjoy it slowly and savor it. They won't be back for at least a year."
Siren gave a small, slightly sad chirp at this, but immediately followed it with happy and excited chirps as Waizatsu pulls the sea salt mochi from its bag. Siren fluttered over, ready to dig in, and lets out an indignant chirp as Waizatsu stops them. "I'm serious, Siren. If you eat all of it now, I won't be able to get you more of this one for a bit, and we'll have to see if you like any other treats..." Siren seemed to show that they understand, and Waizatsu put the treat on the table.
He gently pet Siren as they move to start eating, purposely eating at a slower pace than normal, as if savoring the taste of the treat. Siren started by eating the granules of salt that cover the mochi, chirping excitedly at the taste. Waizatsu chuckled softly, glad he could make Siren so happy, continuing to gently pet Siren as they ate. After eating all of the excess granules of salt, Siren took one of the two mochi, and sat next to it. Siren then began to nibble on it, letting out a happy chirp as they got from the salty outside to the sweet, gooey filling. Siren began to lap up the filling excitedly, not seeming to care that they were leaving behind the salty outside for last.
After finishing the filling, Siren began to meticulously nibble the rest of the outside of the one mochi they'd focused on, until the mochi was gone. Siren then looked at the other mochi, and then to Waizatsu, as if asking if it was okay for them to eat it.
"If you want to eat it now, go ahead, Siren. I won't stop you. Just know that this is the last one you'll have until next year." Waizatsu said, smiling at him. "I'll make sure I grab you more next year though, don't worry."
Siren chirped excitedly, and immediately began to nibble on the outside of the second mochi, repeating the same process they'd used for the first one. After both mochis were gone, Siren fluttered up, and nuzzled into Waizatsu's face with a content and loving chirp, as if trying to say thank you. "Aw, you're welcome, Siren. I'm really proud of you for taking your time on the treats and not eating them in a couple seconds. You did really good. I'll see if I can find some other mochi or dango for you to munch on until next year." He gently kissed the top of Siren's head, and pet them again, before watching Siren flutter off to go play with all of his other imps, a smile on his face.
