[Gift] [Levi]: First to Know

“Hey.”

“Sup.”

That’s how things always started between them, with a casual and almost uninterested greeting. It was a casual and almost uninterested greeting not because they were indifferent towards each other, but more of the opposite. They had grown so accustomed towards each other that meeting was like any other usual day.

Levi occasionally liked to visit Mercury and bother him for nothing in particular, but today he was here with an agenda.

He invited himself over and plopped himself unto Mercury’s couch with a soft thud. The other bunny barely even looks up at the sound, but continues typing something into his laptop while he sat at the other end.

“I need… an outfit.” Levi says slowly. At that, Mercury looks up curiously. 

“What for…?”

“Well I do need clothes to you know. Clothe my body. Duh. Unless you want me running around naked.” Levi says with a playful roll of the eyes. Mercury throws a pillow directly at his face in reply. Bullseye.

“Ok, ok-” Levi says, taking the pillow and hugging it to his chest. “I want to look nice. For Markus.”

Mercury blinks. He grins, a mischievous smile plastered unto his face.” Oh. I see. “ he muses, rapping his fingers unto the keyboard in thought. How interesting~

“We’re uhh…” Levi clears his throat, obviously flustered. “We’re dating. And I want to take him somewhere nice on our first month anniversary so.. I don’t know?? Am I thinking way too ahead ? Why am I even planning an outfit now! Oh. This is so stupid-” he says, scrambling off of the couch. But before he could even set his feet unto the ground, Mercury leans forward and hugs him, his laptop tethering at the edge of his lap. 

“You big baby, stop being so embarrassed!” Mercury jokes, patting Levi on the back. Neither of them were very good at such physical displays of affection like this but his news was definitely celebration enough for a hug. 

“Yeah, yeah-” Levi says, patting his arm back awkwardly. 

“I’m happy for you Levi it’s just..I guess it’s just funny isn’t it!! You and your silly little feelings. You seem like such a stone cold motherfucker sometimes, it’s funny to see you all sweet and mushy for one guy~” Mercury says jokingly, nudging the other’s arm.

Levi  raises an eyebrow and snickers slightly, turning to Mercury “Yeah? Well doesn’t that sound familiar? I mean… You pining for all this time for Blue? Doesn’t that ring a bell?”

Mercury feels the heat blossom on his cheeks. “That isn’t like… That’s different!” He takes a pillow again and attacks Levi once more. The two laugh, Levi retaliating the pillow fight as well until Mercury’s laptop falls unto the luckily carpeted floor with a thud. 

“Ok! Ok!! Time out! My laptop!” Mercury shouts half-laughing, putting it away. They look at each other panting, mildly disheveled.

They smile.

“Am I… the first one to know?” Mercury asks, hugging his knees to his chest.

Levi nods. “Uhm.. Yeah. You are.” he says with a slight smile.

The other nods, a giddy feeling in his chest. He was happy Levi decided to seek him out first. 

“Why do you look surprised?” Levi says, wrapping his arm around Mercury’s shoulder. “Of course I’d tell you first.”

Mercury smiles to himself. “Thanks.” he says, not really knowing what he was thanking Levi for. But he felt grateful all the same.
