Caffeinated terror

Ever since Kohara adopted Nubes, they found themselves much more likely to nap throughout the day.

It wasn't because Kohara felt particularly sleepy at any point during the day, but more so because Nubes was just extremely soft and docile.

More often than not, Kohara found that Nubes had lazily floated till she was cuddled beside xyr, and, as if by a law of nature, Kohara's hand would smoothen over the wool, and scratch her head, until their eyes became droopy due to the motions and Kohara inevitably fell asleep.

Thus why they now found themselves in the kitchen. It was becoming quite a nuisance to always fall asleep! Kohara had chores to do! Work! Relationships to maintain! Xe theorized that a few coffee treats would help them to stay awake.

The coffee grains had been picked and grinded, and Kohara already was done with the coffee cheesecake recipe, and now they had a problem.

Xe might've bought too much coffee. And now there might be a fuck ton of coffee left.

Shrugging, they decided to make something for Nubes with it. It might help with the fluffy cloud's sleepiness as much as it would do with Kohara's.

Making little coffee treats for her wasn’t hard, but figuring out the proper quantity of coffee was turning out to be a problem. Finally, after many times measuring and re-measuring the grounded beans, they finished the light and fluffy coffee muffins. 

Two entire trays of beautifully muffins came out of the oven, looking as fluffy and delicious as they could. And, while Nubes slept, once again, Kohara tidied up and let the muffins cool, before offering one to the napping stellaram.

It didn’t take long before Kohara was offering a coffee muffin to Nubes. The fluffy little cloud took no time to eat it. As sweet and docile as she was, Nubes quickly gobbled the muffin, and immediately, the effects of the caffeine were seen.

She was bouncing off the walls, much like Bruno often did when awake, only tenfold. Xe had never seen anything quite like it before. Nubes had never shown such high energy, and so destructively.

She was literally bouncing off the walls. Kohara had to duck to avoid the black blur that Nubes had turned into, her shape zooming beside, on top, below and under any and all surfaces. She knocked down fruits, knick knacks, and even some portraits.

Face palling, Kohara took a second from dodging from the dangerous floof to look at the lasting coffee muffins resting on the counter top. Those could not be ingested by any other imp. Ever.

Xe made a dash for the trays, but only ended up knocking them down, spreading two dozens of muffins on the ground.

The noise attracts Nubes from her sound barrier breaking zoomies, and she zeroes in on the dropped muffins on the ground, and Kohara’s frozen form reaching for them.

Unlike the sweet, quiet and docile sheep she appears to be, Nubes pounces much like a jaguar on the fallen treats, eating a second one before Kohara’s panicked hands can reach for it. Quickly, it turns into a battle to test who can gather more muffins.

Kohara loses. Terribly.

Nubes ate enough muffins to accumulate the equivalent of four energy drinks (not that Kohara would know anything about drinking four energy drinks, one after the other, only to blackout and wake up half naked on some poor bun’s private property).

Helplessly, Kohara texts Quince.

Hara, 13:59:

hey, just out of curiosity, how long does caffeine last on an imp’s system?

The answer was immediate.

Kohara was unable to reach xyr phone, seeing as how Nubes kidnapped it and went back to flying around the apartment as if there was a guided missile after her. Things only calmed down after Quince had all but broken into the apartment and helped with the disastrous state of the home, seeing how Kohara held throw cushions as shields against what was once the sweet little stellaram that was always sleepily floating around her store.

At least they did find out how long it took for caffeine to last on an imp. 

Too damn fucking long!
