Beasts and Feasts

For days, Andi had been hearing a buzz everywhere that she went about the shop that had just opened near to the Imporium.

She hadn’t really cared that much initially.  New shops opened all the time.  She heard a lot about how sexy the owner was, but really, every bun had a group of buns who would find them sexy, and besides, she had Kaili.  What finally made her want to go, though, was one of her clients talking with mouth-watering descriptiveness about the ice cream she’d had with this Quince.

Honestly, by the time that training session was over, Andi couldn’t get into the showers fast enough - or out of them.  Before work, she’d been lamenting having only the one bun scheduled for the day…  But she wanted ice cream now - and besides there were five scheduled tomorrow, so it would be fine.

She practically bounced into the shop, spotting Quince pretty easily among the sea of cute imps.  It wasn’t hard - like her, Quince was pretty tall and pretty strong.  She supposed she could see why everyone thought she was hot.  Her muscles were very nice.

“Welcome!  Are you here to see the imps?”

Andi liked her immediately.  “Kind of, they do sound fun, but also, my client spent our whole entire training session talking about the ice cream she had with you, so…  I was hoping to enjoy some with you too.”

Quince laughed, loud and booming.  “Oh did she?  That’s cute, I’m glad it made such an impression on her.  Well, we can definitely have some ice cream too.”  She gave a pat to one of the imps surrounding her, gently getting them to let her move towards the back.  “What’s your name?  I’m Quince, but I’d wager you know it already if your client talked about my ice cream that much.”

“Thanks,” Andi replied.  “I’m Andi and- yeah.”  She laughed as well.  “It’s not easy hearing an hour long monologue about food when you’re training someone on weightlifting.”

“Oh I would imagine that’s tough!”  Quince flung open the backroom door, letting Andi in.

It was clearly a place she prepped food for herself and the imps - and several of them followed the two women in, eagerly lining up to watch.

“You got any favorite flavors, Andi?”

“Mmm, salted caramel is always nice,” Andi said, smiling.  “But I like most anything.”

“A woman after my own heart,” Quince declared as she worked to scoop the ice cream for them.  “I try to keep lots of different flavors on hand, helps me out with working with the imps to create new pedigrees.  Also helps with meeting lots of interesting buns.  I didn’t expect everyone to be quite so excited about me setting up here, but I guess I can’t complain…”  She shook her head.  “I’ve got fruits in that counter behind you, nuts too, if you wanna pick any out for this.”

“Sure~”  Andi was plenty willing to poke around, and used some small dishes to scoop her selections (well, she hadn’t really… chosen so much as scooped up a bit of every single option) into before passing them off to Quince to put onto the sundaes.

“Oh you do really like a bit of everything,” Quince laughed.  Quickly, the sundaes were formed, and she handed one off to Andi along with a spoon, and tossed a few leftover fruits to the waiting imps, who eagerly sucked them up.

It was quite easy to chat with Quince, and Andi didn’t have to think in order to know that Quince was easily one of her favorite shop owners already.  She even dished up some ice cream into one of the plastic containers to let Andi take some home to Kaili, generously piling on Kaili’s favorite fruits!

Even if none of the pedigrees quite seemed like they would fit in with Wave and Adi, Andi was more than sure by the time she left that at some point she and Kaili would definitely be getting some future pedigree that Quince made!  And at the least… they could always get imp treats!  She couldn’t wait to see how Kaili liked the ice cream, because in her opinion, it had definitely lived up to her client’s monologue about it!
