[YOTB] Mochi Borrowing [Exquisite Taste]

Several rounds of drinks later from the Rabbit Hole, Shibani and Huang Yi were making their way to the next stop. The former had pulled his weight in drinks, so he could only sluggishly trail after the sober succubun. It was clear that Huang Yi would need to step up now and give the other a rest, and he supposed it’d be fair enough since he didn’t have a single drop of alcohol. That was all on Hops and Shibani. 

While it would have been easy enough to have Shibani return home and rest up for the following adventure after this stop, Huang Yi still needed the other to muster the will to initiate introductions. Plus, it would have been rather long-winded to have to make a trip to Shibani’s place and then to their next destination too. Well, knowing enough about the sloth succubun by this point, Shibani could always have a little snooze anywhere.

The two had arrived in the middle of a match, which Angora cleanly wrapped up with a sweeping win. Based on observations alone, the greed succubun was certainly experienced when it came to gambles, and it was to no one’s surprise what Angora wanted in exchange for the matcha powder after Shibani had made his introduction and request.

From there, Huang Yi took over and nodded in agreement to the lavish succubun’s proposal. "A wager such as that will suffice. That ingredient is quite costly, correct? Shall we lose, Shibani will assist you during your party."  Did he inadvertently volunteer Shibani without the other’s say? Yes, he indeed did.

Meanwhile, Shibani was busy making his retreat under a table, ready to knock out, but upon hearing how readily offered his time was, he whined in protest. “What? Why me? I have plans with Dan tomorrow…!”

Huang Yi waved the pitiful succubun off without batting an eye, and Shibani could only sigh in resignation, much lacking the energy to argue any further. Back to napping for him...

Angora smirked, only willing to play along to an extent. After all, why settle on one succubun when she could have two? After all, her greed had no limits, and she would take all that she could get. “My, my, did I forget to mention the personal brand of matcha I use is worth more than that? It’ll have to be both of your times to make it worth it.”

If Huang Yi was any bit bothered at the change in terms, it didn’t show on his face, his impassive expression remaining the same. After all, he personally didn’t see a change to the value by adding in his help to the mix. It was as if Angora was adding plus zero to the equation. Nothing changed, and it was all the same. “I will include myself as well then.”

Now to figure out the game. The pride succubun already had something in mind, one that was balanced on both sides. Fifty-fifty odds that didn’t favor one over the other. It was simple, and it could be done quickly enough. No covert tactics or cheating required. "Rather than waste our time over a drawn out game, how about we decide this over a coin toss? Only a single flip will be necessary. That should be fair enough, yes? Of course, I understand foul play may be a concern should it be a coin I offer, so instead, may I suggest using one of these?" 

He brushed his paw along a nearby table and held up the poker chip belonging to it, idly twirling it between his hooves to show the embossed and iconic logo of ‘Wonderland Casino’. "It has the casino's logo on one side, so it should make it easy enough to determine which side belongs to who. Which will you pick?"

It was no adrenaline-packed thrill of a game, but Angora supposed she did allow Shibani and Huang Yi to make the choice of what to play. She relented. “I’ll have to pick ‘Wonderland Casino’ of course.”

Into the air the poker chip twirled, and as it descended, Huang Yi made no motion to catch it. Instead, it clattered haplessly on the floor, bouncing and rolling its way around. 

Angora raised a brow, baffled about Huang Yi’s lack of action. “You didn’t catch it. A trick of yours?”

“No, I am merely not dexterous enough to catch what I cannot see. My vision is rather lacking. Shall we see what the results are?” He casually explained before making his way over to the chip. He made no motion to close in on it, patiently waiting for Angora to follow suit. That way, both sides could accept the results, and that happened to be…

Before Angora could suggest another game with a chance to double the winnings, the pride succubun merely stuck out his paw in wait for the matcha powder. “We will be taking our leave now, so we will be taking our prize now.”

Well, the two would be leaving once Huang Yi could get Shibani to wake up at least.
